View Article and Find Full Text PDFAims: Patients with recurrent or metastatic head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) are eligible for first-line immune checkpoint inhibition if their tumour is positive for programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) determined by the combined positive score (CPS). This nationwide study, using real-world data, investigated the developing PD-L1 testing landscape in the first 3 years after introduction of the test in HNSCC and examined interlaboratory variation in PD-L1 positivity rates.
Methods: Pathology reports of HNSCC patients mentioning PD-L1 were extracted from the Dutch Pathology Registry (Palga).

Because the Dako platform is not universally available, we studied the performance of a 22C3 laboratory developed test (LDT) performed on a Ventana BenchMark Ultra compared to the 22C3 pharmDx assay.
Materials And Methods: Serial sections from tissue micro arrays (TMAs) containing tumour tissue from 97 HNSCC patients were stained with the 22C3 pharmDx assay and 22C3 LDT.

The successful synthesis of poly(aryl cyanurate) nanofiltration membranes via the interfacial polymerization reaction between cyanuric chloride and 1,1,1-tris(4-hydroxyphenyl)ethane (TPE), atop a polyethersulfone ultrafiltration support, is demonstrated. The use of cyanuric chloride allows for the formation of a polymer that does not contain hydrolysis-susceptible amide bonds that inherently limit the stability of polyamide nanofiltration membranes. Purpose: The antiarrhythmic drug amiodarone has a long half-life of 60 days, which is often ignored in observational studies. This study aimed to investigate the impact of different exposure definitions on the association between amiodarone use and the risk of acute pancreatitis.
Method: Using data from the Dutch PHARMO Database Network, incident amiodarone users were compared to incident users of a different type of antiarrhythmic drug.
Objective: To determine the association between potential neonatal risk factors and the quality of general movements (GMs) in preterm infants.
Study Design: Prospective cohort study in 67 preterm infants. From video recordings made on Days 8 and 15, we scored the GMs as normal/abnormal and detailed aspects using the general movement optimality score (GMOS).
Gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) coated with responsive polymers gained considerable interest due to their controllable size, good stability, and fast environmental response suitable for biological applications and sensing. Here we report on a simple and efficient method for the synthesis of stable and redox responsive AuNPs using organometallic polyelectrolytes in aqueous solutions of HAuCl. In the redox reaction, positively or negatively charged poly(ferrocenylsilanes) (PFS/PFS) served as reducing agents, and also as stabilizing polymers.

This PIL is redox responsive due to the presence of ferrocene in the backbone and also exhibits a lower critical solution temperature (LCST)-type thermal responsive behavior. The LCST phase transition originates from the interaction between water molecules and the ionic substituents and shows a concentration-dependent, tunable transition temperature in aqueous solution.

Polycationic poly(ferrocenylsilane)s (PFS) with tunable amounts of PEG side chains were used for the condensation of DNA into polyplexes of 110 nm in 5.0 mM HEPES. The PFS-PEG/DNA polyplexes showed negligible aggregation, a strongly reduced protein adsorption, transfection activities comparable with linear polyethyleneimine and an excellent cytocompatibility.
