Background: International consensus on classifications of appendiceal mucinous neoplasms (AMNs) and associated pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) have been carefully made but clinicopathological associations supporting decision making remain scarce.
Objective: This study aimed to assess interdependence between AMNs and PMP and provide directions for clinical management.
Methods: This two-center retrospective cohort study reviewed patients with PMP treated with cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy between 2005 and 2021.

Introduction: To improve care for patients with colorectal peritoneal metastases (CRC-PM) or pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP), the Dutch CRS-HIPEC quality registry was initiated in 2019. The aims are to describe the development and content of this registry and to give insight into the data collected during the first years.
Materials And Methods: The registry is an observational cohort in the Netherlands.

Background: Pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) is an uncommon clinical condition characterized by the presence of mucinous ascites, mainly induced by perforated appendiceal mucinous neoplasms (AMN). The peritoneal surface of the small bowel is usually spared from disease manifestation due to peristaltic movements. Mucinous tumours can disseminate as PMP on the entire peritoneum, but are rarely intraluminal.

Oxaliplatin monotherapy is widely applied in the intraperitoneal treatment of PM, but fails to yield clinical benefit. Background: Recently, excellent results are reported on laparoscopic lavage in patients with purulent perforated diverticulitis as an alternative for sigmoidectomy and ostomy.The objective of this study is to determine whether LaparOscopic LAvage and drainage is a safe and effective treatment for patients with purulent peritonitis (LOLA-arm) and to determine the optimal resectional strategy in patients with a purulent or faecal peritonitis (DIVA-arm: perforated DIVerticulitis: sigmoidresection with or without Anastomosis).
Methods/design: In this multicentre randomised trial all patients with perforated diverticulitis are included.
Postoperative peritoneal carcinomatosis is a significant clinical problem after "curative" resection of pancreatic carcinoma. Preoperative surgical trauma activates a cascade of peritoneal defense mechanisms responsible for postoperative intra-abdominal tumor recurrence. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) play a pivotal role in this postoperative inflammatory reaction.
