Rationale And Objectives: Multi-parametric MRI (mpMRI) studies of the body are routinely acquired in clinical practice. However, a standardized naming convention for MRI protocols and series does not exist currently. Conflicts in the series descriptions present in the DICOM headers arise due to myriad MRI scanners from various manufacturers used for imaging, wide variations in imaging practices across institutions, and technologist preferences.

The cancer modeling used for these studies was subpopulations of melanoma cells existing in cultured and tumor systems that differed in aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) activity. However, similar observations were found in other cancer types in addition to melanoma, making them applicable broadly across cancer.

Preparation and Rationale for a Fluid Overload in Nephrotic Syndrome Clinical Outcomes Assessment Set for Drug Development (Prepare-NS, 5UG3FD007308) was funded by the US Food and Drug Administration to develop a core set of patient-reported and observer-reported (for young children) outcome measures of fluid overload for use in pharmaceutical trials across the lifespan.
Methods: The Prepare-NS study team developed the proposed context of use with input from stakeholders.
Purpose: This cross-sectional survey study quantified the humanistic burden of immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN), in terms of physical and mental health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and work productivity, among adults with primary IgAN and their care-partners.
Methods: HRQoL was assessed (01/31/22 - 05/31/23) with validated tools including the KDQoL-36 (with SF-12), GAD-7 (anxiety), PHQ-9 (depression), and WPAI: SHP (work productivity). Participant characteristics and total/domain scores were summarized; selected outcomes were compared to an external, kidney disease-free cohort.

Multi-parametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) exams have various series types acquired with different imaging protocols. The DICOM headers of these series often have incorrect information due to the sheer diversity of protocols and occasional technologist errors. To address this, we present a deep learning-based classification model to classify 8 different body mpMRI series types so that radiologists read the exams efficiently.

Poor-quality clinical information can lead to failures and delays in patient care. Some clinicians use the term "unlikely" when submitting a specimen.

As the volume of mpMRI exams increases yearly, there are concomitant inaccuracies that exist within the DICOM header fields of these exams. This precludes the use of the header information for the arrangement of the different series as part of the radiologist's hanging protocol, and clinician oversight is needed for correction.

However, a standard naming convention for the MRI protocols and associated sequences does not exist due to wide variations in imaging practice at institutions and myriad MRI scanners from various manufacturers being used for imaging. The intensity distributions of MRI sequences differ widely as a result, and there also exists information conflicts related to the sequence type in the DICOM headers.

We present the case of a 17-month-old boy with diffuse neurofibroma of the scalp associated with hypertrichosis.

While pediatricians have long approached care delivery with a family-centered lens, PFE may be a less familiar concept to situate among related concepts such as shared decision-making, self-efficacy, patient activation, and family-centered care. Children with CKD and their families indicate a need and desire for enhanced PFE efforts in pediatric nephrology.

A barrier to accessing high-quality, equitable care is the lack of effective communication between patients and their providers.
Objective: In designing a patient-prompted tool to facilitate communication, we analyzed qualitative feedback on communication strategies and the experience of people with CDs, caregivers, and providers in healthcare encounters.
Introduction: Deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) women are faced with numerous health inequities, including adverse pregnancy and birth outcomes. These outcomes are likely exacerbated for Black DHH women because of the intersection of disability and race. This study aimed to explore the pregnancy and birth experiences of Black DHH women to identify factors that influence their pregnancy outcomes.

Literature from other developed countries reports the positive experience of people with community pharmacy immunisation services resulting in expansion of the scope of pharmacy practice. However, there is a dearth of such data in a New Zealand context.

This study assessed the relationship between language preference, health literacy, and COVID-19 information barriers among parents who are DHH in the United States. Data were drawn from a larger study focused on individuals who are DHH who had given birth in the past 10 years.
