A redifferentiating effect can be observed with inhibitors of the mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway in thyroid cancers with point mutation in oncogenes. This effect allows RAI reuptake that may lead to a therapeutic effect different from the antitumoral effect of the inhibitor.
