Objectives: Previous research suggests that insomnia and depressive symptoms might be causally related. Emotional reactivity and regulation have been proposed to explain the potential causal relationship between insomnia and depression. However, longitudinal evaluations of their mediating effects are limited.

February 2022
Introduction: Early intervention in Alzheimer's disease (AD) requires the development of an easily administered test that is able to identify those at risk. Focusing on microRNA robustly detected in plasma and standardizing the analysis strategy, we sought to identify disease-stage specific biomarkers.
Methods: Using TaqMan microfluidics arrays and a statistical consensus approach, we assessed plasma levels of 185 neurodegeneration-related microRNA, in cohorts of cognitively normal amyloid β-positive (CN-Aβ+), mild cognitive impairment (MCI), and Alzheimer's disease (AD) participants, relative to their respective controls.
Background: The apolipoprotein E (APOE) ε4 genotype is associated with an increased risk of Alzheimer's disease. In community surveys, older adults with this genotype have been found to have lower scores on neuropsychological tests than those who do not. It is possible that this is the consequence of subclinical changes in cognition in those persons who later develop dementia.

It also examined the impacts of these beliefs on caregivers' burdens and mental health. A structured questionnaire was administered to 125 Chinese caregivers in out-patient clinics in Hong Kong.

The crystal structure prediction study, using a specifically developed anisotropic atom-atom potential for chlorothalonil, gave as the global minimum in the lattice energy a structure that was readily refined against powder diffraction data to the known form 1 (P2(1)/a). The structure of form 2 was solved and refined from powder diffraction data, giving a disordered structure in the Rm (166) space group (Z = 3).
