Moving knowledge into action: developing the rapid synthesis and translation process within the interactive systems framework.

The Interactive Systems Framework (ISF) for Dissemination and Implementation presents an overall framework for translating knowledge into action. Each of its three systems requires further clarification and explanation to truly understand how to conduct this work. This article describes the development and initial application of the Rapid Synthesis and Translation Process (RSTP) using the exchange model of knowledge transfer in the context of one of the ISF systems: the Prevention Synthesis and Translation System (see [special issue "introduction" article] for a translation of the Wandersman et al.

Assessing interorganizational networks as a dimension of community capacity: illustrations from a community intervention to prevent lead poisoning.

Network analysis is often cited as a method for assessing collaboration among organizations as an indicator of community capacity. The purpose of this study was to (1) document patterns of collaboration in organizational networks related to lead poisoning prevention in a Native American community and (2) examine measurement issues in using organizational network analysis to assess community capacity. Interviews were conducted with representatives from 22 tribes, government agencies, schools, and community-based organizations in northeastern Oklahoma.

Tissue specific nuclear antigens in the germinal vesicle ofXenopus laevis oocytes.

A library of hybridoma cell lines has been established which produce monoclonal antibodies against antigens from the germinal vesicle ofXenopus laevis oocytes. Many of the antigens are also found in the nuclei ofXenopus embryonic cells in culture. The fate of two of these antigens during embryogenesis was traced by immunofluorescence on embryo and tadpole sections.
