Study Question: Does endometriosis affect the mental health of women using oral contraceptives?
Summary Answer: Among oral contraceptive users, women with endometriosis have a higher risk of depression compared to those without endometriosis, although the absolute risk increase is small.
What Is Known Already: Previous studies have suggested a potential link between endometriosis and mental health issues, but the impact of endometriosis on depression among oral contraceptive users remains unclear.
Study Design, Size, Duration: A secondary pooled cohort study utilizing data from two longitudinal patient-centric studies (INAS-VIPOS and PRO-E2) was conducted across 11 European countries, Colombia and Australia.
Objectives: To assess the risk of contraceptive failure and adverse events (AEs) associated with the type of progestin when coadministered with psychotropic drugs within a routine clinical practice setting.
Study Design: A pooled analysis of four large, prospective, multinational cohort studies including women with a new prescription of combined oral contraceptives (COCs) and concomitant psychotropic drug use from 13 European countries and the United States. We determined the frequency of contraceptive failures and AEs within 6 months after COC initiation by progestin type.
Background: Endometriosis diagnosis reportedly faces delays of up to 10 years. Despite growing awareness and improved guidelines, information on the current status is limited.
Objectives: To systematically assess the published evidence on the status of time to diagnosis in individuals with endometriosis, with respect to the definition of time to diagnosis, geographical location and patient characteristics.
Objective: To investigate the effect of endometriosis on venous thromboembolism (VTE) in oral contraceptive (OC) users. Pooled analysis on a harmonized dataset compromising international patient-centric cohort studies: INAS-VIPOS, INAS-SCORE, and INAS-FOCUS. Eleven European countries, the United States, and Canada.

Study Design: We conducted a secondary analysis of the ongoing, prospective, non-interventional European Active Surveillance Study on LCS12 (EURAS-LCS12). Users of newly inserted IUDs were recruited in 10 European countries via a network of approximately 1200 clinicians.
This manuscript examines using serenity rooms and similar tools to improve the workplace during COVID-19 for nurses and other practitioners. A rapid review of the literature was conducted and completed from four different databases, including PubMed, CINAHL, Science Direct, and Academic Search Complete. The literature review was completed with the use of a single-string Boolean search to maximize the number of articles returned.

Data were retrieved from two large, prospective, observational cohort studies. Propensity score subclassification was applied to balance baseline parameters between the COC user cohorts.

Study Design: We performed descriptive analyses of recruitment, dropout, and baseline characteristics over time. Oxford Stringency Index was used to assess the impact of regional constraints on recruitment.
Objective: To investigate safety and effectiveness of NOMAC-E2 and levonorgestrel-containing COCs (COC) in users over 40.
Methods: In this large, observational study, new users of NOMAC-E2 and COC were recruited in Europe, Australia, and Latin America and followed-up questionnaires. Incidence of venous thromboembolism (VTE) was expressed as incidence rate (IR; events/10 women-years [WY]).
Purpose: A total of 537 million suffered from diabetes mellitus in 2021, and the aging of the population will not abate this number in the future. Diabetes predisposes people to ailments and doubles the risk of COVID-19 mortality. mHealth has shown promise to help manage diabetes.

In this large, observational study, new users (first-ever users of an eligible COC or restarting with the same or a new eligible COC after a break of at least 2 months) of NOMAC-E2 and COC were recruited in 12 countries in Europe, Australia, and Latin America and followed up questionnaires for up to 2 years. Unintended pregnancy was expressed by the Pearl Index (PI; contraceptive failures/100 women-years).

Study Design: The Nexplanon Observational Risk Assessment (NORA) study was a large prospective cohort study conducted in the United States (US). Study participants with a newly inserted Nexplanon implant were recruited by health care professionals (HCPs) who had completed the Nexplanon clinical training.
Background: Norethisterone (acetate) and levonorgestrel are marketed globally as components of combined oral contraceptives. Although guidelines recommend both as first-line combined oral contraceptives, no direct, comparative safety studies are available.
Objective: We directly compared the thromboembolic event risk associated with the use of norethisterone acetate-containing and levonorgestrel-containing combined oral contraceptives.
Tropical legumes transport fixed nitrogen in form of ureides (allantoin and allantoate) over long distances from the nodules to the shoot. Ureides are formed in nodules from purine mononucleotides by a partially unknown reaction network that involves bacteroid-infected and uninfected cells. Here, we demonstrate by metabolic analysis of CRISPR mutant nodules of Phaseolus vulgaris defective in either xanthosine monophosphate phosphatase (XMPP), guanosine deaminase (GSDA), the nucleoside hydrolases 1 and 2 (NSH1, NSH2) or xanthine dehydrogenase (XDH) that nodule ureide biosynthesis involves these enzymes and requires xanthosine and guanosine but not inosine monophosphate catabolism.

Methods: Four research databases (PubMed [MEDLINE], CINAHL, Web of Science, and Science Direct) were queried for studies commensurate with the objective statement from 1990 to 2021. In total, 169 articles were initially identified in the search, 135 were screened after duplicates and ineligible articles were removed, ultimately leaving the sample of 24 articles for the review.
Information regarding the COVID-19 pandemic has spread internationally through a variety of platforms, including social media. While efforts have been made to help reduce the spread of misinformation on social media, many platforms are still largely unregulated. The influence of social media use on vaccination promotion is not fully understood.

Thus, it is important to now assess the effects of this rapid adoption and to determine whether the barriers to such adoption are the same today as they were under prepandemic conditions.
Objective: The objective of this systematic literature review was to examine the research literature published during the COVID-19 pandemic to identify facilitators, barriers, and associated medical outcomes as a result of adopting telemedicine, and to determine if changes have occurred in the industry during this time.
In plants, guanosine monophosphate (GMP) is synthesized from adenosine monophosphate via inosine monophosphate and xanthosine monophosphate (XMP) in the cytosol. It has been shown recently that the catabolic route for adenylate-derived nucleotides bifurcates at XMP from this biosynthetic route. Dephosphorylation of XMP and GMP by as yet unknown phosphatases can initiate cytosolic purine nucleotide catabolism.

Objective: To assess and compare the risk of unintended pregnancy in NOMAC-E2 users with levonorgestrel-containing COC (COC) users in clinical practice.
Study Design: In this observational study, new users of NOMAC-E2 and COC were recruited in Europe, Australia, and Latin America and followed for up to 2 years. Unintended pregnancy was expressed by the Pearl Index (contraceptive failures per 100 women-years [WY]), crude hazard ratios (HR) and adjusted hazard ratios (HR).
Endometriosis is a chronic disease that requires a suitable, lifelong treatment. To our knowledge, the Visanne Post-approval Observational Study (VIPOS) is to date the largest real-world, non-interventional study investigating hormonal management of endometriosis. We describe women's experiences of endometriosis in the real world by considering their symptoms and the diagnostic process in their healthcare setting.
