Traffic pollution has been linked to high levels of metals and organic contaminants in road-side soils, largely due to abrasion of tires, brake pads and the road surface. Although several studies have demonstrated correlations between different pollutants and various traffic variables, they mainly focused on roads with medium to high traffic density (>30,000 vehicles per day). In this study we have focused on investigating tire wear particles and road-related metals (zinc, copper, lead, chromium, nickel, and the metalloid arsenic) in the soils of low traffic roads in rural areas (650-14,250 vehicles per day).

Loss of TPP-1 activity leads to accumulation of storage material in lysosomes and resultant neuronal cell death with neurodegeneration. Genotype/phenotype comparisons suggest that the phenotype should be ameliorated with increase of TPP-1 levels to 5-10% of normal with wide central nervous system (CNS) distribution.

Methods: T -prepration was employed immediately prior to image acquisition of 3D balanced steady-state free precession (bSSFP) with a single trajectory of center-out k-space view ordering, which requires no magnetization recovery time between imaging segments during the scan. This approach was compared with 3D FSE, 2D single-shot FSE, and product 3D bSSFP imaging in numerical simulations, plus phantom and in vivo experiments.
Road pollution is one of the major sources of microplastic particles to the environment. Methods: We evaluated twenty-five patients admitted to the COVID-19 Recovery Unit (CRU) at New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell University Medical Center after intensive care hospitalization with confirmed severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), whom neurology was consulted for weakness and/or paresthesias. All patients were clinically evaluated by a neuromuscular neurologist who performed electrodiagnostic (EDX) studies when indicated.
The grim circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic have highlighted the need to refine and adapt stroke systems of care. Patients' care-seeking behaviors have changed due to perceived risks of in-hospital treatment during the pandemic.
