Background: While treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in refugees is generally effective, many refugees remain symptomatic after treatment. Coping styles could be relevant to PTSD treatment response and as such may be a potential focus of PTSD treatment.
Aims: The study aims to examine 1) if baseline coping styles are related to treatment response after EMDR therapy or stabilization, and 2) if coping styles change during these treatments.
Background: Ageing is a complex multifactorial process, impacting all organs and tissues, with DNA damage accumulation serving as a common underlying cause. To decelerate ageing, various strategies have been applied to model organisms and evaluated for health and lifespan benefits. Dietary restriction (DR, also known as caloric restriction) is a well-established long-term intervention recognized for its universal anti-ageing effects.

Introduction: Patients with complex forms of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) may benefit from schema therapy. While a small number of studies point to the effectiveness of individual schema therapy in refugees with PTSD, no evidence on group schema therapy (GST) in refugees exists. To illustrate and advocate for the use of GST in refugee patients with treatment-resistant PTSD and comorbid personality pathology, a case report is presented.

The identification of these high-risk patients may be facilitated using a clinical risk score. The aim of the current study is to evaluate the PADIT score for identifying high-risk patients in patients undergoing a CIED procedure in a tertiary academic center.

A wave dominated by the delta variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in autumn 2021 was superseded by the omicron variant over the course of a few weeks around Christmas. We describe how this transition affected the population of patients admitted to a Norwegian local hospital with COVID-19.

Here, we generated a transgenic mouse line expressing the full-length human PLA2R1 in podocytes, which has no kidney impairment after birth. Beginning from the age of three weeks, these mice spontaneously developed anti-human PLA2R1 antibodies, a nephrotic syndrome with progressive albuminuria and hyperlipidemia, and the typical morphological signs of membranous nephropathy with granular glomerular deposition of murine IgG in immunofluorescence and subepithelial electron-dense deposits by electron microscopy.

This challenges healthcare professionals to provide the necessary information and instructions in a limited time. Patient-tailored discharge information may improve the patient's understanding of the discharge information but may also be time-consuming.

The purpose of the current study was to investigate the effect of incorporating primary tumour data and clinical features to differentiate between [F] FDG-avid malignant and benign intrathoracic lymph nodes.
Methods: We retrospectively selected lung cancer patients who underwent PET-CT for initial staging in two centres in the Netherlands.
The development of orthogonal acceleration time-of-flight (oa-tof) technology is driven forward due to higher mass accuracy and resolving power than conventional linear/reflectron tof instruments. This is achieved with a more accurate definition of starting energies and coordinates of ions by spatial separation of ion generation and orthogonal ion extraction. Consequently, the ability to cover the whole mass spectral range without scanning is not given anymore.

Objective: To evaluate if undiagnosed SDB has an impact on AF recurrence after catheter ablation.
Background: Direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) are the preferred choice of oral anticoagulation in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF). Randomized trials have demonstrated the efficacy and safety of DOAC in patients undergoing a cardiac implantable electronic device procedure (CIED); however, there is limited real-world data.
Objective: To evaluate the outcome of patients undergoing an elective CIED procedure in a tertiary referral center with an interrupted DOAC or continued vitamin K antagonist (VKA) regimen.
Relatively little is known about the ex vivo frequency and phenotype of the Plasmodium falciparum-specific CD4+ T-cell response in humans. The exported protein 1 (EXP1) is expressed by plasmodia at both, the liver stage and blood stage, of infection making it a potential target for CD4+ and CD8+ effector T cells. Here, a fluorochrome-labelled HLA-DRB1∗11:01-restriced MHC class II tetramer derived from the P.

Here we performed a cohort study including 34 patients with advanced stage IIIC or IV HGSOC to assess changes in the tumor genome and transcriptome in women receiving neoadjuvant chemotherapy. RNA sequencing and panel DNA sequencing of 596 cancer-related genes was performed on paired formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded specimens collected before and after chemotherapy, and differentially expressed genes (DEG) and copy-number variations (CNV) in pre- and post-chemotherapy samples were identified.

This work compares the chemical emissions of three ANDD in comparison to cigarette smoke. All the tested ANDD are characterized by not involving combustion of tobacco.

Randomized trials have demonstrated the efficacy and safety of DOAC in patients undergoing electrical cardioversion (ECV); however, there is limited real-world data.
Objective: To evaluate the outcome of patients undergoing an elective ECV for atrial tachyarrhythmia in a tertiary referral center who were treated with DOAC or vitamin K antagonist (VKA) without routine trans esophageal echocardiography (TEE).
We provide detailed clinical, virological, and immunological data of a B-cell-depleted patient treated with obinutuzumab for follicular lymphoma with protracted coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and viremia. A sustained response was achieved after 2 courses of remdesivir and subsequent convalescent plasma therapy. Immunocompromised patients might require combined and prolonged antiviral treatment regimens.

Purpose: During transvenous lead extraction (TLE), the femoral snare has mainly been used as a bail-out procedure. The purpose of the present study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a TLE approach with a low threshold to use a combined superior and femoral approach.
Methods: This is a single-center observational study including all TLE procedures between 2012 till 2019.
Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a devastating disease caused by the absence of a functional rod-shaped cytoplasmic protein called dystrophin. Several avenues are being developed aimed to restore dystrophin expression in boys affected by this X-linked disease. However, its complete cure is likely to need combinational approaches which may include regimes aimed at restoring muscle mass.
