The lack of uniform PHBT guidelines persists, relying on diverse parameters and physician experience.

Arresting Active Carious Lesions Using Minimal Intervention Dentistry among a Group of Preschool Children: A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial.

Objectives: This clinical trial investigated the effectiveness of three minimal intervention dentistry protocols in arresting dentin caries in primary molars of preschool children. Treatment time, anxiety in children, adverse events, and parents' esthetic perception were all assessed.

Materials And Methods: One hundred thirty-five 3-5-year-old children with active dentin caries lesions on the occlusal surface of primary molars were randomly allocated to the control group receiving atraumatic restorative treatment (ART) and two test groups receiving 38% silver diamine fluoride (SDF) or ultraconservative treatment (UCT).

() amplification via fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH) is the gold standard test used for confirming the diagnosis of atypical lipomatous tumor/well differentiated liposarcoma and dedifferentiated liposarcoma. It is also used as a screening test in high grade spindle cell or pleomorphic neoplasms. FISH is considered positive for amplification when the /CEP12 ratio is greater than 2; however, a ratio between 2 and 3 is considered a "low-level" amplification and raises the possibility of a false positive result; thus, posing a diagnostic dilemma.

Characterization of Candida species isolated from clinical specimens: insights into virulence traits, antifungal resistance and molecular profiles.

Background: Candida species have emerged as a significant cause of opportunistic infections. Alongside the expression of various virulence factors, the rise of antifungal resistance among Candida species presents a considerable clinical challenge.

Aim: This study aimed to identify different Candida species isolated from clinical specimens, evaluate their antifungal sensitivity patterns, identify key genes regulating virulence mechanisms using multiplex PCR and to assess any correlation between their virulence profiles and antifungal resistance patterns.

The green synthesis of ZnO NPs is becoming increasingly valued for its cost-effectiveness and environmental benefits. This study successfully synthesized hexagonal ZnO NPs using a combination of clove () and extracts. The use of both extracts significantly improved the antibacterial and antioxidant properties of the ZnO NPs.

Superficial anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK)-rearranged myxoid spindle cell neoplasm (SAMS) is a recently described entity which coexpresses ALK, CD34, and commonly S100. These neoplasms are characterized morphologically by concentric spindle cell whorls and cords and are commonly set in an abundant myxoid to myxocollagenous stroma, thus mimicking perineurioma or hybrid nerve sheath tumor. EMA immunostain has been reported to be negative in SAMS which helps in excluding the latter entities.

Objectives: There is little information on the long-term function of the four Locator attachment of the mandibular implant retained overdenture (OD), particularly with different distributions.

Purpose: To compare the effect of different four inter-foraminal implant distributions retaining a mandibular OD after 10 years of function on posterior mandibular ridge resorption (PMandRR), anterior maxillary ridge resorption (AMaxRR), and the amount of marginal bone loss (MBL) around all four implants.

Materials And Methods: Twenty-two participants with total edentulism who had worn mandibular OVDs retained by four inter-foraminal implants for 10 years of functional life were selected for this study.

The list of potential gene fusions involving sarcomas, and particularly infantile fibrosarcoma-like tumors, continues to expand. The receptor tyrosine kinases are dysregulated in several tumor types, underscoring their roles in neoplasia. In this case presentation, we describe a pulmonary metastasis with two novel gene fusions (FKBP5::PRKCA and in-frame SEPT7::RAF1) occurring at least two decades after the primary tumor developed.

Aims: To investigate the efficacy and safety of tadalafil (TAD) versus pentoxifylline (PTX) in the management of diabetic kidney disease (DKD). Some animal studies and clinical trials reported that tadalafil and pentoxifylline have a reducing effect on different blood glucose parameters and lipid profiles which contribute to progress the patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) to DKD.

Methods: From February 2022 to March 2023, 90 patients with type 2 DM and DKD (micro-albuminuria) were enrolled in this randomized-controlled study.

Material And Methods: Eighteen completely edentulous participants were enrolled for mandibular ridge splitting in the canine regions, followed by expansion, the placement of implants, and the application of a bone graft.

Evaluation of Quality of Life and Satisfaction with Fixed Prostheses on Zygomatic Implants vs All-on-Four Concept: A Randomized Clinical Study.

Aim: To compare between the rehabilitation of atrophied maxilla with fixed prosthesis using two posterior zygomatic implants and two conventional anterior implants or four implants inserted according to the all-on-four concept regarding the patient quality of life and satisfaction after one year of prosthesis insertion.

Materials And Methods: Thirty-six patients with atrophic edentulous maxillae were randomized into two groups: Group I (rehabilitated with fixed prostheses supported by two zygomatic and two conventional implants in the anterior region) and group II (fixed prostheses on four implants in the anterior region following an all-on-four concept). One year after the placement of the definitive prostheses, patients completed oral health impact profile-14 and satisfaction questionnaires.

Cytomorphology of metastatic dedifferentiated/undifferentiated melanoma to the gallbladder: A case report and review of literature.

Dedifferentiated/undifferentiated melanoma (DM/UM) is a distinct subtype of malignant melanoma that tends to lose all melanocytic markers of differentiation. DM/UM pose major diagnostic challenges as they could be easily confused with UM sarcoma or carcinoma, thus necessitating the use of molecular studies such as Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) for detecting melanoma-compatible mutations to confirm such diagnosis. The capability of performing NGS molecular studies on small biopsy material with confirmation of adequacy via rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) has tremendous value in diagnosing DM/UM.

Effect of Ridge Splitting of Mandibular Knife Edge Ridges with Two-implant Retained Overdenture with Locator Attachments on Peri-implant Bone Level and Posterior Ridge Resorption: A One-year Preliminary Study.

Aim: This study was conducted to evaluate peri-implant bone height changes and posterior ridge resorption by using two-implant retained polyetheretherketone (PEEK) overdentures with locator attachments following expansion of mandibular knife edge ridges by ridge splitting.

Materials And Methods: Eighteen patients were selected for ridge splitting followed by expansion, implant placement, and bone graft application. Six months later, the fabrication of PEEK overdentures retained by locator attachments was accomplished.

Lanthanides are a group of 15 elements (8 heavy and 7 light) grouped for their proximity in the chemical and physical properties. Recently, this group of elements has received great attention because of their importance, and their entrance into many industrial technologies making the probability of the living organisms' exposure to it increase. The present study aims to study ability of cerium nanoparticles (CeNPs) or lanthanum (LaCl) to cross the blood brain barrier also, investigate their neuro effect separately or together on some parameters in six brain areas (cortex, cerebellum, hippocampus, striatum, midbrain, and hypothalamus) of the adult male albino rats.

Evaluation and comparison of retention and patient satisfaction with milled polyetheretherketone versus metal maxillary obturators.

Statement Of Problem: Metal and polyetheretherketone (PEEK) have been used to rehabilitate maxillary defects with obturators, each having advantages and disadvantages. However, patient satisfaction with the obturator retention of each material is unclear.

Purpose: The purpose of this crossover clinical study was to compare retention and patient satisfaction between a milled cobalt chromium and a milled PEEK framework, each with a hollow bulb extension in polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA).
