Article Synopsis
  • CYFIP2 is a protein that influences neuronal development and is linked to how mice respond to cocaine, especially when it has a mutation (S968F).
  • In experiments with mice having this mutation, researchers found reduced sensitivity to cocaine and differences in brain activity and protein expression in regions associated with reward processing.
  • The study suggests that understanding CYFIP2's function could help in developing treatments targeting cocaine-related behaviors.

Adinazolam (ADZ) is a benzodiazepine-type new psychoactive substance (NPS) with anxiolytic, anticonvulsant, and antidepressant effects. High ADZ doses have been reported to impair psychomotor performance and memory; however, the abuse potential and drug dependence of ADZ have not yet been fully investigated. In this study, we evaluated whether ADZ has abuse potential and leads to drug dependence and withdrawal symptoms.
