Etch characteristics of maskless oxide/nitride/oxide/nitride (ONON) stacked structure using CHF-based gas.

Oxide/Nitride/Oxide/Nitride (ONON; SiO/SiN/SiO/SiN) stacked structure is widely used in the 3D vertical structure of semiconductor cells. Previously, to form a 3D cells, photoresist (PR) was patterned and repeatedly trimmed on the top of ONON after the etching of one ON layer. Due to the time-consuming process of etching layer-by-layer of ON layer, two-step etch processing using CF-based or CF-based gases composed of maskless ONON stack feature etching and followed one ON layer-by layer etching by PR trimming in the ONON stack feature are employed these days.

Analysis of Natural Organic Matter in Water from Cold and Hot Mineral Springs in South Korea Using 15T FT-ICR-MS.

The natural organic matter (NOM) properties in water from cold and hot mineral springs in South Korea are not well documented. We analyzed the characteristics of NOM in water from 25 cold and hot mineral springs located across South Korea. The NOM of each sample was concentrated using solid-phase extraction and analyzed using 15T Fourier-transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry.

Separation of native and C106-oxidized DJ-1 proteins by using column chromatography.

Mutations in PARK7, the gene encoding the DJ-1 protein, are associated with early onset of Parkinson's disease. The C106 residue of DJ-1 is highly susceptible to oxidation, and its oxidation status is essential for various in vivo neuroprotective roles. Since C106 is readily oxidized to sulfinic acid that is not reduced by dithiothreitol, no method to separate native DJ-1 protein from the oxidized one creates challenges in the in vitro study of the biological relevance of C106-oxidation state.

Non-Polar KYC4048 Metabolites Exert Anti-Proliferative Effects via Inhibition of Wnt/β-Catenin Signaling in MCF-7 Breast Cancer Cells.

The Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway is involved in breast cancer and KYC4048 is a myxobacterial strain that can produce a variety of bioactive secondary metabolites. Although a previous study revealed that KYC4048 metabolites exhibit anti-proliferative effects on breast cancer, the biochemical mechanism involved in their effects remains unclear. In the present study, KYC4048 metabolites were separated into polar and non-polar (ethyl acetate and n-hexane) fractions via liquid-liquid extraction.

Analysis of hair and plasma samples for methotrexate (MTX) and metabolite using high-performance liquid chromatography triple quadrupole mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) detection.

Methotrexate (MTX), a folate antagonist, is the anchor drug used to treat several diseases. Therapeutic effects are attributed to intracellular levels of various methotrexate conjugates that are present in the cell as polyglutamates (MTX-Glu). The present study was conducted to develop a new liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS/MS)-based assay to separately quantitate the MTX-Glu in hair cells, red blood cells, and serum using internal standards.

Comparison of clinical outcomes of deceased donor kidney transplantations, with a focus on three induction therapies.

Background: Graft survival rate of kidney transplantation recipients improves after induction therapy. However, there is no conclusive evidence on which regimen is superior for deceased donor kidney transplantation (DDKT). This study aims at discussing effective induction therapy in DDKT.

Combination of ultrasound-treated 2D g-CN with Ag/black TiO nanostructure for improved photocatalysis.

Herein, nanosheets of g-CN (CN), prepared using a green ultrasonication process under various conditions, were combined with Ag/black TiO nanocomposites (AgBT) to create two-dimensional (2D) CN/Ag/black TiO tri-composites (CNAgBT). The thickness of the CN sheets varied with the ultrasonication conditions. The CNAgBT sample prepared using ultrasound-treated CN exhibited the highest average photocatalytic efficiencies for the degradation of two model pollutants, followed in decreasing order by AgBT, black TiO (BT), sheet CN, bulk CN, and TiO.
