Methods: The descriptive, cross-sectional design included a convenience sample of Mexican women with a previous diagnosis of cervical dysplasia.
Results: Women ( = 61) were young adults ( = 27 years, = 6.92) reporting single marital status (55%) and sexually active (93%).
Purpose: Human papillomavirus (HPV) causes morbidity and mortality worldwide. Evidence-based models addressing health for women who have HPV may prevent development of cervical cancer (CC). We applied Meleis' transition model to identify barriers and facilitators influencing CC protective behavior for women with HPV.
