Significance: Selecting a nerve-specific lead fluorescent agent for translation in fluorescence-guided surgery is time-consuming and expensive. Preclinical fluorescent agent studies rely primarily on animal models, which are a critical component of preclinical testing, but these models may not predict fluorophore performance in human tissues.
Aim: The primary aim of this study was to evaluate and compare two preclinical models to test tissue-specific fluorophores based on discarded human tissues.
Neuropsychiatric conditions pose substantial challenges for therapeutic development due to their complex and poorly understood underlying mechanisms. High-throughput, unbiased phenotypic assays present a promising path for advancing therapeutic discovery, especially within disease-relevant neural tissues. Here, we introduce NeuroPainting, a novel adaptation of the Cell Painting assay, optimized for high-dimensional morphological phenotyping of neural cell types, including neurons, neuronal progenitor cells, and astrocytes derived from human stem cells.

Materials And Methods: A prospective, single-surgeon series, between June 2018 and April 2022, of patients who underwent open genitourinary reconstructive surgeries in which NIFI/ICG was utilized to intraoperatively assess ureteral tissue perfusion prior to ureteral anastomosis. Primary outcome was ureteroanastomotic stricture (UAS).
Background: In its commitment to delivering comprehensive women's cancer early detection services, the Rwanda Ministry of Health rolled out a new cervical cancer screening program. The paper-based medical record system that tracked clients at different points in the continuum of cervical cancer care had challenges with storing data, accessing client information for follow-up visits, and fragmenting information on individual clients. To support the rollout of the new cervical cancer screening program, a new electronic medical record system was designed and implemented to ensure clients were followed along the complete continuum of care.

However, they do so with modest affinity and generally poor selectivity, limiting their utility as synthetic modulators. Here we show that incorporation of a medium-chain, branched fatty acid to the N-terminus of one such heptameric lipopeptidomimetic (LPPM-8) increases the affinity for the coactivator Med25 >20-fold (Ki >100 μM to 4 μM), rendering it an effective inhibitor of Med25 protein-protein interactions (PPIs).

Methods: This was a secondary analysis of a multicenter retrospective study including patients with high-grade renal trauma from seven level 1 trauma centers from 2013 to 2018. All eligible patients were assigned new renal trauma grades based on revised criteria.

Due to the well-established link between obesity and an increased risk of developing breast cancer, understanding how obesity-mediated epigenetic changes affect breast cancer pathogenesis is critical. Study Design, Setting, Sample: This is a retrospective cohort study of subjects aged 12 to 35 years old who underwent orthognathic surgery, including Le Fort 1 osteotomy ± bilateral sagittal split osteotomy, at Boston Children's Hospital from August 2018 to January 2022.
Objective: To compare characteristics and outcomes in patients who had radiotherapy (RT) for prostate cancer (PCa) and underwent urinary diversion (UD) due to prostatic fistula (Fistula) vs localized radiation injury (Localized).
Methods: This study was a retrospective single-institution study. Exclusion criteria included follow-up <3 months, large pelvic tumor, and surgery for cancer control.

Methods: We searched International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) Marketscan, a commercial claims database, for Current Procedural Terminology and International Classification of Diseases (ICD) procedure codes to identify patients who underwent gender affirming vaginoplasty from 2011-2020. We quantified deep venous thrombosis and pulmonary embolism using ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes found within 90 days after surgery.
