Bismuth Telluride (BiTe) layered structure results in extraordinary features in diagnostic and therapeutic applications. However, BiTe synthesis with reliable stability and biocompatibility in biological systems was the major challenge that limited its biological application. Herein, reduced graphene oxide (RGO) or graphitic carbon nitride (CN) nanosheets were incorporated into BiTe matrix to improve exfoliation.

Modified cellulose acetate membranes with bentonite clay (CA/bent) and TiO nanoparticles (CA/TiO) using the phase inversion method are successfully prepared and characterized. These Membranes are favored due to their high salt rejection properties and recyclability. The IR and EDX spectral data indicate the formation of modified membranes.

Article Synopsis
  • A new pincer ligand, 2,4-(3,5-dimethyl-1-pyrazol-1-yl)-6-methoxy-1,3,5-triazine, was used to create two zinc complexes, [Zn(BPMT)(NCS)] and [Zn(BPMT)(Br)], through reactions with zinc nitrate and either potassium thiocyanate or potassium bromide.
  • The structure of the [Zn(BPMT)(NCS)] complex was confirmed using single crystal X-ray diffraction, showing that the ligand acts as a tridentate chelate coordinating to Zn(II) in a pentacoordinated setting with a distorted square pyramidal geometry.
