Background: Crisis cafés (also known as crisis sanctuaries or havens) are community-based services which support people in mental health crises, aiming to provide an informal, non-clinical and accessible setting. This model is increasingly popular in the UK; however, we are aware of no peer-reviewed literature focused on this model. We aimed to investigate the aims of crisis cafés, how they operate in practice and the factors that affect access to these services and implementation of the intended model.

Methods: This multi-center cohort study of children with a priori defined CFLD from 1999 to 2016, was designed to evaluate the clinical utility of CF-specific characteristics and liver biomarkers assessed years prior to liver biopsy-proven CFLD to predict risk of developing severe fibrosis (F3-4) over time. Fibrosis was staged by Metavir classification.

Vitamin D has anti-inflammatory properties and low-serum levels are seen in children with asthma and in children with obesity. Here we review the intersection of asthma, obesity, and hypovitaminosis D in children.
