Article Synopsis
  • Cervical cancer remains a serious health issue, particularly in underdeveloped regions, necessitating an analysis of age and social demographic index (SDI) impacts on incidence and mortality rates.
  • Data from the global burden of disease database over the past 30 years reveals that high SDI areas experience lower rates of cervical cancer incidence and mortality compared to low SDI areas, with stable rates in younger women but an upward trend in older age groups.
  • Overall, while the global incidence of cervical cancer has significantly increased, the age-standardized incidence rate shows a slight decline, and the leading risk factors identified include smoking and unsafe sexual practices.

Extracellular vesicles from adipose derived stem cells (ADSCs-EVs) have shown immunomodulation and anti-photoaging effects; however, the skin barrier prevents their absorption via skin. Meanwhile, microneedle (MN) is a widely used and minimally invasive tool for dermal delivery of drugs, it also has neocollagenesis effect by creating tiny injuries and initiating wound healing process. To investigate the effect of MN combined with ADSCs-EVs on skin aging, photoaging in SKH-1 mice was induced by chronic exposure to ultraviolet radiation.

Article Synopsis
  • * Various concentrations of these saponins were tested, revealing that they can induce cell apoptosis and reduce expression levels of specific proteins (MIF and CD74) linked to cell proliferation.
  • * The findings support the potential use of Paris polyphylla var. yunnanensis in treating salivary adenoid cystic carcinoma by inhibiting cancer cell growth and promoting cell death.
