Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) are a new potential cure for diabetes, characterized by a capacity for self-renewal and differentiation to pancreatic islet beta cells, which secrete insulin and rebuild blood glucose balance. The safety and validity of iPSC-derived cell therapy for diabetes remain controversial. Teratoma formation arising from undifferentiated stem cells is a serious risk, but clinical reports of this phenomenon are rare.

Henoch-Schönlein purpura (HSP) is a typical cutaneous immune skin disease, usually diagnosed by invasive biopsy. In this study, we develop a noninvasive optical method by combining optical clearing, confocal microscopy and immune-staining together to present the real-time in vivo dynamics of blood vessels, IgA molecules, and T cells in a HSP rat model. The small vessels in the skin are found with acute damage and then hyperplasia, which enhances deposition of IgA complexes in blood vessels.

Intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs) possess at least one region that lacks a single stable structure in vivo, which makes them play an important role in a variety of biological functions. We propose a prediction method for IDPs based on convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and feature selection. The combination of sequence and evolutionary properties is used to describe the differences between disordered and ordered regions.

All-solid-state lithium-metal batteries (ASSLMBs) have received great interest due to their high potential to display both high energy density and safety performance. However, the poor compatibility at the Li/solid electrolyte (SE) interface and penetration of lithium dendrites during cycling strongly impede their successful commercialization. Herein, a thin Ag layer was introduced between Li and LiGePS for the formation of a Li-Ag alloy interface, thus tuning the interfacial chemistry and lithium deposition/dissolution behavior.
