Purpose: To explore the evaluation value of contrast enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) quantitative parameters in ischemic-type biliary lesions after liver transplantation to assist its early-diagnosis.
Methods: Patients who underwent liver transplantation and intravenous CEUS at Beijing Friendship Hospital, Capital Medical University from June 25, 2020 to December 28, 2022 and were diagnosed with Ischemic-type biliary lesions (ITBLs) by Magnetic Resonance Cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) or Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) or Percutaneous Transhepatic Cholangiography (PTC) were prospectively enrolled. SonoLiver software was used to quantitatively analyze the contrast images, transplanted livers with normal biliary tracts as the control group.

With the rapid advancement of soft electronics, particularly the rise of fiber electronics and smart textiles, there is an urgent need to develop high-performance fiber materials with both excellent electrical and mechanical properties. However, existing fiber materials including metal fibers, carbon-based fibers, intrinsically conductive polymer fibers, and composite fibers struggle to simultaneously meet the requirements. Here, we introduce a metalgel fiber with a unique structure.

Using scRNA-seq analysis in a tumor-bearing murine model, it is found that lobeline, an alkaloid from the herbal medicine lobelia, promotes polarization of tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) toward M1-like TAMs while inhibiting their polarization toward M2-like TAMs.

Here we describe multiplex universal combinatorial immunotherapy via gene silencing (MUCIG), which uses CRISPR-Cas13d to silence multiple endogenous immunosuppressive genes in the TME, promoting TME remodeling and enhancing antitumor immunity. MUCIG vectors targeting four genes delivered by adeno-associated virus (AAV) (Cd274/Pdl1, Lgals9/Galectin9, Lgals3/Galectin3 and Cd47; AAV-Cas13d-PGGC) demonstrate significant antitumor efficacy across multiple syngeneic tumor models, remodeling the TME by increasing CD8 T-cell infiltration while reducing neutrophils.

In severe cases of HoFH, clinical signs and symptoms cannot be controlled well by non-surgical treatments, liver transplantation (LT) currently represents the viable option.
Method: To assess the clinical efficacy, prognosis, and optimal timing of LT for HoFH, a retrospective analysis was conducted on the preoperative, surgical conditions, and postoperative follow-up of children who received an LT for HoFH at the Beijing Friendship Hospital over the period from December 2014 to August 2022.
Purpose: To compare the odds of patellofemoral instability events requiring subsequent surgery and revision surgical intervention in patients with joint hypermobility syndromes (JHS) to that of a matched cohort.
Methods: This is a retrospective cohort study using the PearlDiver Mariner Database. Records were queried between 2010 and 2021 with a diagnosis of JHS, including Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) and Marfan syndrome.
Improving the adsorption capacity of materials for pollutants by means of modification is an important direction in the research of water treatment technology. To improve the applicability of sodium alginate composites in the field of adsorption, magnetic sodium alginate-based hydrogel microsphere adsorbent material FeO@SA/PEI-Fe (FSPF) was synthesized in a single step by using polyethyleneimine grafting modification of sodium alginate by sol-gel method. The material was used for the removal of direct blue GL (DB 200) and direct date red B (DR 13) from simulated wastewater, as well as Cu(II) and Pb(II) from simulated wastewater with heavy metal ions.

However, solid lithium, when cooled below 77 K, develops a complex structure that has been debated for decades. A close parallel is found in sodium below 36 K where the crystal structure still remains unresolved.

The physicochemical characteristics and microstructures of the fat portion of the Chinese bacon were examined at three stages: the raw meat stage (Control), the curing stage (C3d and C5d), and the smoking stage (S5d and S10d). The results showed that LTS increased the hardness, transparency, and b* value of bacon fat.

The suggested MH benefits of LTPA may present a promising avenue to promote the MH of immigrants/refugees, who often face various stressors that may impede their MH. The CAN-HEAL study aimed to examine LTPA needs as they pertain to MH among Arab Canadians.

However, existing catalysts, such as metal salts and organic molecules, often struggle with dispersion, volatility, or structural instability issues. Here, we propose to solve such problems by incorporating a liquid-state, thermally stable transesterification catalyst into epoxy resins.

Liquid crystal networks (LCN) have attracted surging interest as extraordinary energy-dissipation materials owning to their unique dissipation mechanism based on the re-orientation of mesogens. However, how to integrate high Young's modulus, good dissipation efficiency and wide effective damping temperature range in energy-dissipation LCN remains a challenge. Here, we report a strategy to resolve this challenge by fabricating robust energy-dissipation liquid crystal semi-interpenetrating polymer network (LC-semi-IPN) consisting crystalline LC polymers (c-LCP).

Herein, we exposed the radishes to single and mixed foliar doses of CeO NPs and deuterated polystyrene (DPS), investigating the trophic transfer of NPs from radish shoots/roots to snails. Compared to single treatments, mixture treatments increased Ce uptake by plants but had no effect on DPS uptake.

However, the accumulation pattern, translocation efficiency, mode of action of nanomaterials (NMs) via different application methods remain unclear. In this study, wheat was treated with CuO-NPs/CeO-NPs (50 and 100 nm) for 21 days using soil and foliar application separately.

The increase in opioid overdose deaths, particularly involving potent, long-acting synthetic opioids, has led to calls for stronger, longer-acting opioid-overdose-reversal agents. Using an opioid-induced respiratory depression model, we investigated the onset and time course of action of naloxone and a long-acting opioid antagonist, nalmefene, in reversing the effects of an ongoing intravenous fentanyl infusion over a period of up to 100 min. Healthy, moderately experienced opioid users received intramuscular (IM) nalmefene 1 mg, IM naloxone 2 mg, or intranasal (IN) naloxone 4 mg after fentanyl-induced respiratory depression was established based on reduction in respiratory minute volume (MV).
