Background: Digestive system perforations after anterior cervical spine surgery (ACSS), if left untreated, are life-threatening. These injuries are often categorized as pharyngoesophageal. Although the pharynx and esophagus are continuations of each other, they are two distinct anatomical structures.

Epileptic seizures are a common manifestation, with both focal and generalized seizures being observed. EEG findings can be variable, with the most common patterns being slow background activity followed by epileptiform discharges.

This study aimed to develop an innovative PDI-based system to inactivate Salmonella Enteritidis PT4 on eggshells. The system includes 405 nm light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and the application of curcumin or carvacrol as photosensitizers.

Background: Both maximal muscle strength and muscle power are independently important for karatekas. However, the relationship between strength and power in elite male kumite karatekas is under researched. This study aimed to determine the relationship between back-leg-chest (BLC) isometric muscle strength with sprint and jump variables in elite male karatekas.

Background: The lung cancer is the leading cause of death worldwide. Although methods such as surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and immunotherapy are used for treatment, these treatments are sometimes inadequate. In addition, the number of chemotherapeutic agents used is very limited, and it is very important to use new natural agents that can increase the effect of these methods used in treatment.

The high topography of the Scandes range at the Atlantic coast of Fennoscandia is traditionally assumed isostatically supported by variation in crustal density and thickness. Here we demonstrate, by our Silverroad seismic profile, that the constantly ~44 km thick crust instead is homogenous above the Moho, and Pn-velocity abruptly change from 7.

Parameters such as operating range, pH, sensitivity, selectivity, determination limit, and foreign ion effect were thoroughly investigated to validate the developed method and characterize this polymer-based membrane. The designed sensor has wavelengths of 322 nm for fluorescence excitation and 356 nm for emission, respectively.

Employing a sample of 415 married individuals, the research utilized a correlational model to examine the predictive capacity of marital mindfulness. The assessment involved the Mindfulness in Marriage Scale, Infidelity Tendency Scale, and Divorce Anxiety Scale, supplemented by a demographic information form.

Objectives: Acrodermatitis dysmetabolica (AD) is a dermatologic manifestation associated with inherited metabolic disorders (IMDs), distinct from acrodermatitis enteropathica, which occurs solely due to zinc deficiency.
Case Presentation: This report presents two pediatric cases: a 30-month-old girl with maple syrup urine disease (MSUD) experiencing AD secondary to severe isoleucine deficiency due to a protein-restricted diet, showing improvement with dietary adjustments, and a 2.5-month-old boy infant with propionic acidemia (PA) who developed AD alongside septic shock, which progressed despite intervention.

Objective: Secondary sclerosing cholangitis (SSC) represents a disease with a poor prognosis increasingly diagnosed in clinical settings. Notably, SSC in critically ill patients (SSC-CIP) is the most frequent cause. Variables associated with worse prognosis remain unclear.

Objective: Our goal was to investigate the prognostic values of NLR and PLR and incorporate the PASS score into our analysis.
Although sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) are known to reduce the incidence of atrial fibrillation (AF) and AF-related adverse events, evidence on their prognostic effect in patients undergoing catheter ablation (CA) for AF is limited. In a single-center, 614 patients (mean age 58.1±9.

It has been reported that combination therapy is more effective than ET alone and is safe in elderly patients as well as young patients. Nevertheless, elderly and very old patients with HR+/HER2-MBC treated with CDK4/6 inhibitor (CDK4/6i) combinations are relatively underrepresented in randomized controlled trials.

This study searched for conventional tertiary amines with low to medium basicity as initiators to control reaction rates and tailor industrial applications. Challenges arise from the stronger basicity of initiators, leading to an uncontrollable and short curing application period.

A thorough clinical evaluation, including both physical examination and radiological imaging, is required to distinguish benign subcutaneous emphysema from necrotizing soft tissue infections. In this article, we report a 12-year-old female patient with benign subcutaneous emphysema of the upper extremity and highlight the importance of an accurate diagnosis to avoid unnecessary surgical intervention.

Methods: A total of 82 sexually active patients aged 18 years or over who had undergone microscopic subinguinal varicocelectomy with a clinical diagnosis of varicocele in 14 urology clinics between October 2021 and March 2023 with primary infertility were evaluated prospectively Patients were evaluated using the Turkish validated form of the 'Premature Ejaculation Diagnostic Tool' (PEDT) scale. A PEDT score of 11 or above was taken to indicate the presence of PE.
The Pulse Index Contour Continuous Cardiac Output (PICCO) module provides advanced and continuous monitoring of cardiac output through the use of arterial pulse contour analysis and transpulmonary thermodilution. The objective of this study was to compare the early postoperative outcomes of patients who were monitored using the conventional method and the pulse contour analysis method. A prospective observational study was conducted involving 45 patients who underwent cardiac surgery between 2020 and 2022.

We aimed to evaluate bone mineral density (BMD) in adults with cPKU and determine the risk factors associated with low BMD.
Methods: Eighty adult patients with cPKU were examined, including 41 women and 39 men.

The incidence of MPLC is increasing due to the early detection of lesions by widespread screening methods, improved surgical, medical, and radiation treatment options, and increased survival. We present a case of a patient who was operated on in our clinic and diagnosed with primary lung cancer for the third time with different histopathology.

Investigation of Acanthamoeba-pathogenic bacteria interaction is important for the discovery of new antibacterial agents that can be used against pathogenic bacteria. In this study, it was aimed to investigate the antibacterial effect of cell-free supernatants obtained from Acanthamoeba against some pathogenic bacteria.
