Article Synopsis
- Active gaming can boost energy levels in young adults, but its effectiveness as a replacement for traditional exercise isn't fully known.
- The study compared activity intensity from active tennis gaming, sedentary gaming, and actual tennis play among young adults and tracked heart rate (HR) and metabolic equivalents (METs) across different time intervals.
- Results showed that while active gaming was more intense than sedentary gaming, it lacked the intensity required for health benefits and fell short compared to real tennis play, indicating that active gaming should not replace actual sports participation.
