Assessment of functional and cosmetic outcomes of Extended-Tubularized incised plate for mid-shaft and distal hypospadias as a modification of Snodgrass repair: a cross-sectional study.

Background: Hypospadias is a congenital abnormality of anterior urethral and penile development where the urethral meatus is ectopically located on the ventral aspect of the penis. It is a relatively common condition affecting ~1 in 250 male birth. Extended-Tubularized Incised Plate (E-TIP) is a modification of Snodgrass repair by extending the midline incision to the apical part of the glans resulting in a more normal appearing location of the meatus and straight urinary stream without increasing the risk of complications.

Diabetes and oral health: doctors' knowledge, perception and practices.

Objectives: To assess Jordanian doctors' knowledge of the connection between diabetes and oral health and assess their willingness to advise their diabetic patients to seek dental treatment and determine the associated factors.

Methods: Data were collected from 164 doctors practising in Jordan using a structured questionnaire. Chi-squared test and regression analyses were conducted to reveal factors influencing the awareness, perception and knowledge of health care professionals regarding diabetes and oral health.

A clinical study on the effects of cordless and conventional retraction techniques on the gingival and periodontal health.

Aim: To investigate the influence of two cordless techniques on the periodontium in comparison with conventional cords.

Material And Methods: Dental students (n=60) with healthy gingival conditions were recruited - an expanding poly vinyl siloxane material (Magic Foam Cord), a paste-like material (Expasyl), and a conventional retraction cord (Ultrapak) were applied on the buccal aspects of three premolars of each subject. Probing depth, clinical attachment level, gingival index (GI), plaque index, mobility, bleeding, and sensitivity were assessed at baseline, and at 1 and 7 days after application.
