Background: Fatigue is a major concern for patients with severe asthma.

Objective: This observational study aims to assess fatigue severity and associated factors, to explore the effect of pulmonary rehabilitation on fatigue, and to investigate which factors predict persistent severe fatigue.

Methods: Patients with severe, uncontrolled asthma referred for alpine altitude climate treatment (AACT) between 2007 and 2018 were systematically assessed before and after rehabilitation regarding clinical, inflammatory, functional, and psychological characteristics.

Introduction: Type 2 (T2) inflammation is a key mechanism in the pathophysiology of asthma. Diet may have immunomodulatory effects, and a role for diet in T2 inflammation has been suggested in the literature. Indeed, diet and food allergies play a role in children with atopic asthma, but less is known about diet in relation to adult asthma, which is often non-atopic.

Drug-induced liver injury (DILI) remains the main reason for drug development attritions largely due to poor mechanistic understanding. Toxicogenomic to interrogate the mechanism of DILI has been broadly performed. Gene coregulation network-based transcriptome analysis is a bioinformatics approach that potentially contributes to improve mechanistic interpretation of toxicogenomic data.

Introduction: We report a very unique clinical presentation of a patient who complained, after a left parietal brain damage, about feeling tactile stimulations on his right upper limb without being able to localize them.

Methods: Using a single case study approach, we report three experiments relying on several custom-made tasks to explore the different levels of somatosensory information processing, ranging from somato-sensation to somato-representation.

Results: Our results showed a preserved ability to localize tactile stimuli applied on the right upper limb when using pointing responses while the ability to localize was less efficient when having to name the stimulated part (akin Numbsense).

Background: Many patients with severe asthma are overweight or obese, often attributed to unintentional weight gain as a side effect of oral corticosteroids (OCSs). Anti-IL-5/5Ra biologics significantly reduce OCS use, but their long-term effects on weight are unknown.

Objectives: To examine (1) weight change up to 2 years after anti-IL-5/5Ra initiation in subgroups on the basis of maintenance OCS use at start of treatment and (2) whether cumulative OCS exposure before or changes in OCS exposure during treatment are related to weight change.

A young adolescent girl with trisomy 13 was admitted twice to the paediatric department: the first time because of haematocolpos due to uterus didelphys and unilateral transverse vaginal septum, and the second time because of heart failure due to ruptured sinus of Valsalva aneurysm. As a consequence of the historical early high mortality rate in trisomy 13, we are not aware of known complications in older patients. With better survival nowadays through childhood, we advise structural ultrasonographic cardiac and female genital screening in trisomy 13 patients reaching adolescent age.

Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) is an invalidating chronic condition that can occur after an acute peripheral lesion. Prism adaptation therapy is regarded as a promising tool to improve chronic pain in this syndrome but the mechanisms which lead to pain amelioration remain unknown. In this exploratory report we performed a retrospective analysis of longitudinal data collected from a single, atypical patient, who showed hyper-attention toward her affected (left) hand.

Purpose: The objective of this single-center randomized single-blinded trial was to assess the hypothesis that anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) using a four-strand semitendinosus (ST) graft with adjustable femoral and tibial cortical fixation produced good outcomes compared to an ST/gracilis (ST/G) graft with femoral pin transfixation and tibial bioscrew fixation. Follow-up was 2 years.

Methods: Patients older than 16 years who underwent primary isolated ACLR included for 1 year until August 2017 were eligible.

Neglect manifestations are typically explored in the visual modality. Although they are less commonly investigated tactile deficits also exist, and the aim of this study was to explore neglect in this modality. A haptic object discrimination task was designed to assess whether or not shape perception is impaired in seven right brain damaged patients with or without neglect.

Blindsight has been primarily and extensively studied by Lawrence Weiskrantz. Residual visual abilities following a hemispheric lesion leading to homonymous hemianopia encompass a variety of visual-perceptual and visuo-motor functions. Attention blindsight produces the more salient subjective experiences, especially for motion (Riddoch phenomenon).

Visuo-motor adaptation has been classically studied using movements aimed at visual targets with visual feedback. In this type of experimental design, the respective roles of the different error signals cannot be fully disentangled. Here, we show that visuo-motor adaptation occurs despite the terminal success of the action and the compensation of the external error by a jump of the visual target.

Pituitary development depends on a complex cascade of interacting transcription factors and signaling molecules. Lesions in this cascade lead to isolated or combined pituitary hormone deficiency (CPHD). The aim of this study was to identify copy number variants (CNVs) in genes known to cause CPHD and to determine their structure.

Background: Immature platelets are the youngest circulating platelets and they reflect the rate of thrombopoiesis. The immature platelet fraction (IPF) or the absolute immature platelet count (AIPC) may predict platelet count recovery following chemotherapy-induced thrombocytopenia in pediatric patients and help guiding prophylactic platelet transfusion therapy.

Procedure: To test IPF and AIPC as predictors of platelet recovery, 19 children with platelet nadirs of less than 20 × 10(9)/L after chemotherapy were prospectively enrolled.

Blood supply to the human thalami is complex and multiple variants exist. The artery of Percheron is one of those variants and is characterized by a solitary arterial trunk that branches from one of the proximal segments of either posterior cerebral artery and supplies blood to the paramedian thalami. Its occlusion results in bilateral paramedian thalamic infarction sometimes extending to the midbrain.

Unlabelled: OBJECTIVE AND PATIENT: To report an atypical case of exercise-induced bilateral brachialis and brachioradialis rhabdomyolysis in a 25-year-old woman.

Discussion And Conclusion: Persistent focal muscle pain, atypical by its duration and intensity, even after moderate exercise, should prompt the search for rhabdomyolysis and discuss the possibility of acute compartment syndrome. MRI images can validate the muscle edema.

The Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS) form a clinically and genetically heterogeneous group of inherited connective-tissue disorders characterized by joint hypermobility, tissue fragility and skin abnormalities. Six subtypes have been well characterized based on clinical features and molecular genetic abnormalities. The arthrochalasia type EDS (formerly types VIIA and B) is characterized by severe generalized joint hypermobility with multiple dislocations including congenital bilateral dislocation of the hips, muscular hypotonia and distinct dysmorphic features.

Introduction: Whether post-traumatic focal fixed dystonia has a physiological or psychologically-mediated mechanism is discussed.

Case Report: We report the case of an active 22-year-old soldier with shoulder-fixed dystonia, eight months after a fall with minor right-acromioclavicular sprain.

Conclusion: Psychiatric examination and search of complex regional pain syndrome, radicular or accessory nerve damage, and genetic predisposition to dystonia are necessary for selecting a difficult treatment in these patients.
