Objectives: To evaluate MRI performance on both initial and long-term rheumatologic diagnosis of spondyloarthritis (SpA), taking into account clinical evolution and treatment response, and the impact of gadolinium injection.
Methods: In this single-center study, patients who underwent both spinal and sacroiliac (SI) joint MRI were prospectively recruited between May 2013 and January 2014 and followed for 7 years until 2020. Clinical, biological, and radiologic parameters were collected.
Objectives: To assess feasibility of a three-dimensional ultrashort echo time (3D-UTE)-sequence to evaluate normal and pathological disco-vertebral complex (DVC), with assessment of its different portions in a rat model of degenerative disk disease (DDD) with histological correlation. To assess whether this sequence, in comparison with long echo time T2-weighted sequence, is able to monitor DDD with differentiation of early from chronic DVC changes in pathological mechanical conditions.
Methods: Five rats were induced with DDD model by percutaneous disk trituration of the tail with an 18-G needle under US-guidance and imaged at 4.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify sagittal spinopelvic parameters predictive of adjacent segment disease (ASD) on postoperative whole spine weight-bearing stereoradiography.
Materials And Methods: A total of 84 patients with previous spinal fusion surgery and documented radiological follow-up with early weight-bearing postoperative whole spine stereoradiography (EOS® Imaging System) were retrospectively included. A pathological group of 42 patients (9 men, 33 women; mean age, 63.
Tumor-related vertebral compression fractures often result in severe back pain as well as progressive neurologic impairment and additional morbidities. The fixation of these fractures is essential to obtain good pain relief and to improve the patients' quality of life. Thus far, several spine implants have been developed and studied.

Materials And Methods: Fourteen rats underwent in vivo MRI of the ankle at 4.7 T, including a 3D RARE T2 Fat-Sat sequence and a 3D ultrashort echo-time (UTE) sequence for morphologic assessment at baseline and day 3 after induction of an SpA model, leading to Achilles enthesopathy in the left paw (right paw serving as a control).

Purpose: The goal of this data challenge was to create a structured dynamic with the following objectives: (1) teach radiologists the new rules of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), while building a large multicentric prospective database of ultrasound, computed tomography (CT) and MRI patient images; (2) build a network including radiologists, researchers, start-ups, large companies, and students from engineering schools, and; (3) provide all French stakeholders working together during 5 data challenges with a secured framework, offering a realistic picture of the benefits and concerns in October 2018.
Materials And Methods: Relevant clinical questions were chosen by the Société Francaise de Radiologie. The challenge was designed to respect all French ethical and data protection constraints.
Purpose: To assess the feasibility and clinical outcome of combined CT and fluoroscopy-guided percutaneous vertebroplasty in the management of painful Schmorl's nodes (SN).
Methods: A prospective study was carried out from January 2014 to January 2016 in 52 consecutive patients. Thirty-two men and 30 women aged between 42 and 88 years old were consecutively included.
Background: Due to the very short T of its components, the normal anatomy of Achilles enthesis is impossible to define with "conventional" long echo time (TE) T sequences. However, this is a common site affected by rheumatologic disease. Early abnormalities related to inflammatory processes are impossible to detect in this location.

The difference, however, is that the target of the decompression with the current technique is the herniated disc itself. The goal of this combined technique is to create a space, an "olive" around the probe, allowing a decrease in pressure inside the hernia.

Methods: A prospective, observational study was conducted from 2011 to 2014. Patients with risk factors for complications of percutaneous or surgical ablation or recurrence after ablation, were offered once monthly intravenous bisphosphonate treatment until significant pain alleviation was achieved.
Objective: To evaluate low-pressure bone stenting combined with cementoplasty in extensive lytic lesions.
Methods: A single-centre study involving four consecutive patients (four women) with extensive lytic tumours was performed. The average age was 65 years.
Purpose: The aim of this study is to compare the accuracy and reliability of spinal curvatures and vertebral rotation data based on patient-specific 3D models created by 3D imaging system or by bi-planar imaging coupled with Moiré-Fringe projections.
Methods And Materials: Sixty-two consecutive patients from a single institution were prospectively included. For each patient, frontal and sagittal calibrated low-dose bi-planar X-rays were performed and coupled simultaneously with an optical Moiré back surface-based technology.
Surgical repair of pertrochanteric and subtrochanteric fractures in the elderly is usually achieved using an endomedullary nail. Unfortunately, even today, some of the patients who undergo this intervention develop periprosthetic bone absorption over time that can lead to loosening of the prosthesis, resulting in pain, joint instability and the need for revision surgery. Surgical revision is hindered by potential complications related to patients' existing underlying medical conditions.

Our study shows that, compared to X-ray, in a resource-constrained environment, on-site US has a high sensitivity (98%) and specificity (96%) in the diagnosis of bone fractures.
Purpose: To compare the accuracy of on-the-spot US with conventional radiography in the screening for bone fractures during the Paris-Dakar rally raid.
Objective: The objective was to evaluate percutaneous computed tomography (CT) and fluoroscopy-guided injection of bone cement for consolidation of loosened posterior arthrodesis performed by radiologists.
Methods: A single-centre prospective study involving four consecutive patients (three women, one man) suffering from screw loosening (three at the vertebral level, one at the iliac wing level) after Posterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion (PLIF) treatment was done. The average age was 80 years.
Ankle impingement is a common condition occurring secondary to sprain or repeated microtrauma. Clinical symptoms are chronic pain located in the affected region and limited range of ankle motion. There are three types of ankle impingement syndrome: anterior impingement, which can be subdivided into anterolateral, anteromedial and purely anterior impingement; posterior impingement, which can be subdivided into posterior and posteromedial impingement; and calcaneal peroneal impingement which is secondary to planovalgus foot deformity.

This study aims to identify selection criteria for cryoablation in order to standardize indications of this treatment.
Patients And Methods: Between 2000 and 2010, 46 patients (57 tumors) presenting local recurrences of STS of the trunk or limbs and treated following standards of care were selected from our institutional database.

Objective: To determine the tolerability, effectiveness and outcomes of percutaneous image-guided cryoablation on inoperable extra-abdominal desmoid tumors.
Methods: Between 2011 and 2012, 13 patients (mean age 39.3 years, range 15-74) with inoperable extra-abdominal desmoid tumors were consecutively treated with cryoablation (17 tumors treated in 17 procedures), including two patients with Gardner syndrome and nine recurrences after surgery.
Bone metastases are detected at initial diagnosis of cancer in 25% of cases and bone metastases are common in the course of a majority of cancer types. The spine and proximal long bones are the most affected sites. Knowledge of the basic radiological semiology is important to make the proper diagnosis of metastasis(s) bone(s), especially in situations in which the clinical context is not suggestive of metastases (such as cases where bone metastases are inaugural or cases of peripheral solitary metastasis).

Studies of percutaneous cryotherapy in the treatment of benign or malignant soft tissue tumours are rare and mainly involve small populations. Nevertheless, results show cryotherapy's potential in terms of local control of tumours, analgesic efficacy, reduced intra- and postoperative complications, and reduction in the length of convalescence after the procedure. The objective of this update is to set out the short-term prospects for this technique in the treatment of soft tissue tumours, so that it may be more widely offered in these indications.
