Article Synopsis
  • This review analyzes studies comparing endovascular repair (EVAR) and open surgical repair (OSR) for ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysms (rAAA) to determine which method yields better outcomes.
  • Six studies involving 6,731 patients found that EVAR significantly reduced the odds of perioperative mortality, acute kidney injury, and hospital stay compared to OSR, although overall mortality differences were not statistically significant.
  • Despite the promising results for EVAR, the quality of evidence was deemed low, indicating a need for cautious interpretation.*
