Synergistic Effect of Colistin and Rifampin Against Multidrug Resistant : A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

The existence of infections caused by multidrug resistant (MDR) is a growing problem because of the difficulty to treat them. We examined the published literature and focused our analysis on the investigation of the synergism of colistin and rifampin against MDR isolates systematic review and meta-analysis. A systematic literature search was performed using the following 4 databases (PubMed, Scopus, EMBASE and ISI Web of Sciences).

The emergence of fluoroquinolone resistance among A. baumannii isolates is now of particular concern. Phenotypic and genotypic characteristics of resistance to ciprofloxacin among 50 Acinetobacter baumannii isolated from burn wound infections of Tehran were evaluated by E-test and broth microdilution in presence and absence of efflux pump inhibitor phenylalanine- arginine β-naphthylamide (PAβN) and PCR-sequencing methods.
