A case of pancreatic acinar cell carcinoma implantation in multiple branches of the pancreatic duct without main tumor continuity: a rare case report.

Background: Pancreatic acinar cell carcinoma (PACC) is a rare subtype of pancreatic cancer and the clinicopathological behavior of PACC is not yet fully understood. PACC rarely invades the main pancreatic duct (MPD), which causes intraductal growth. Thus, herein, we have reported a rare case of PACC that invaded the MPD and disseminated to the branches of the pancreatic duct (BDs) without exhibiting any continuity with the main tumor.

Pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide (PACAP) affects rodents' stress-related behaviors, such as anxiety-like behavior or fear conditioning. However, previous studies have investigated the effect of intracerebroventricular, but not hippocampal, injection of this PAC1R-selective antagonist (PACAP-6-38) on anxiety-like behavior. However, it has been reported that administration of PACAP-6-38 to the dorsal hippocampus reduces the fear response in a fear conditioning test.

High-grade biliary intraepithelial neoplasia localized in the distal bile duct diagnosed via peroral cholangioscopy: A rare case report.

Rationale: Biliary intraepithelial neoplasm (BilIN) is characterized by a microscopically identifiable preinvasive neoplasm of the biliary tract. BilIN is rarely diagnosed intentionally and is often detected incidentally in surgical specimens obtained via surgical resection for other types of cancers. Herein, we report a rare case of high-grade BilIN localized in the distal bile duct.

Background: Complex segmentectomy for uniportal video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) remains controversial due to procedural complexity and the risk of increased complications, unlike multiportal VATS. Demonstrating the perioperative results and proficiency of individual surgeon is believed to influence future dissemination for uniportal VATS. In this study, we aimed to compare the perioperative outcomes and learning curves of complex versus simple segmentectomy for uniportal VATS.

A case of silicosis with infection relapsed with lymphadenitis 1 year after the completion of initial treatment.

A 71-year-old man with silicosis was treated for infection. Antimycobacterial treatment for was terminated 1 year after a negative test result for the bacteria on sputum examination. One year following the treatment, the patient developed pneumonitis.

Involvement of Ca3.2 T-type Ca channels and cystathionine-β-synthase in colitis-related visceral hypersensitivity in mice.

We tested the hypothesis that Ca3.2 T-type Ca channels, which can be rebooted by sulfides from Zn inhibition under physiological conditions, and sulfide-generating enzymes including cystathionine-β-synthase (CBS) would participate in the colitis-related visceral pain in mice treated with 2,4,6-trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid (TNBS). The visceral hypersensitivity following TNBS-induced colitis was abolished by an inhibitor or genetic deletion of Ca3.

A teenager who suffered from left hemiparesis after traumatic brain injury underwent 18F-THK5351 PET 48, 286, and 810 days after the injury. The first scan showed slight uptake in the right corticospinal tract (CST), and the second scan showed intense uptake along the CST, which was significantly reduced in the third scan. The hemiparesis has improved between the first and second scans.

Effectiveness and safety of a new clip for delivery using a duodenoscope for bleeding after endoscopic sphincterotomy.

Hemostasis for post-endoscopic sphincterotomy (post-EST) bleeding involves no standard strategy. New clips designed for delivery using the duodenoscope (SureClip, Micro-Tech, Nanjing, China) have been utilized for gastrointestinal bleeding hemostasis and bleeding prevention after polypectomy and papillectomy. We retrospectively analyzed the effectiveness and safety of SureClip for post-EST bleeding.

Background: There is limited literature on the use of positron emission tomography (PET) for benign tumors originating in the brain ventricles, and the use of multiple tracers for subependymal giant cell astrocytoma (SEGA) has not been reported. The authors compared the PET findings in two SEGA cases with past reports and literature, exploring the distinctive characteristics of SEGA on PET.

The spatial distribution and electronic properties of the frontier molecular orbitals (FMOs) in a thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) molecule contribute significantly to the TADF properties, and thus, a detailed understanding and sophisticated control of the FMOs are fundamental to the design of TADF molecules. However, for multiple-resonance (MR)-TADF molecules that achieve spatial separation of FMOs by the MR effect, the distinctive distribution of these molecular orbitals poses significant challenges for conventional computational analysis and ensemble averaging methods to elucidate the FMOs' separation and the precise mechanism of luminescence. Inverse Association Between Mothers' Cognitive Social Capital During Pregnancy and Postpartum Depression: The Japan Environment and Children's Study.

Purpose: Several studies have reported an apparent inverse association between cognitive social capital and depression in various groups, but insights into this association in perinatal mothers are fairly limited. Therefore, we explored the possible associations between expectant mothers' cognitive social capital (ie, neighborhood trust and reciprocity and generalized trust and reciprocity) and postpartum depression at 1 and 6 months after delivery.

Patients And Methods: As part of an ongoing cohort study, the Japan Environment and Children's Study, cognitive social capital was evaluated using a questionnaire survey during mid-late pregnancy and postpartum depression was assessed using the Japanese version of the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale.

Impact of definitive surgery for esophageal atresia on long-term outcomes in patients with trisomy 18.

This study investigates the long-term outcomes of palliative and definitive surgeries for esophageal atresia (EA) in patients with trisomy 18 syndrome. A retrospective study included 25 cases undergoing EA surgery at our center between 2008 and 2022. The Palliative group (n = 16) comprised 13 cases with esophageal banding and 3 with tracheoesophageal fistula (TEF) division.
