Aim: To evaluate the clinical performance of bioactive injectable resin composite vs nanohybrid resin composite in restoring carious posterior teeth.

Materials And Methods: A total of 18 patients with 26 class I and II carious cavities were recruited. Teeth were divided into two groups ( = 13): group I: Bioactive injectable resin composite (Beautifil Flow Plus X F00) while group II: Nanohybrid resin composite (Tetric N-Ceram) and were restored according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Article Synopsis
  • - This study is a randomized, controlled, double-blinded trial that investigates how different cavity designs (inlay vs. overlay) affect the performance of resin composite restorations in teeth that have undergone endodontic treatment, evaluated over two years using Modified USPHS criteria.
  • - A total of 30 participants were divided into two groups, with one receiving restorations without cuspal reduction (inlay) and the other with cuspal reduction (overlay), and various follow-up assessments were conducted at 6 months, 12 months, and 24 months.
  • - Results indicated that the overlay design showed superior marginal adaptation and lower rates of discoloration and fractures compared to the inlay design at both the 6 and 12-month marks

Managing training load in rugby union is crucial for optimising performance and injury prevention. Contact training warrants attention because of higher overall injury and head impact risk, yet players must develop physical, technical, and mental skills to withstand the demands of the game. To help coaches manage contact loads in professional rugby, World Rugby and International Rugby Players convened an expert working group.

Aim: The purpose of this research was to explore how various finishing and polishing techniques affect the surface roughness (Ra) and gloss of flowable bulk-fill injectable resin composite utilized for posterior teeth restoration, following exposure to a range of food-simulating liquids (FSLs) over three months.

Materials And Methods: This study comprised fifty-six disk specimens of G-aenial™ Bulk Injectable flowable resin composite which were created using a Teflon mold (10 × 4 mm). Two techniques of finishing and polishing (F/P) were employed: The two-step 3M™ Sof-Lex™ F/P spiral wheels system and the multiple-step 3M™ Sof-Lex™ XT finishing disks supplemented by the Ultradent Jiffy HiShine polisher cup system.

Objective: The current clinical trial was conducted to evaluate the effect of proximal indirect restorations in endodontically treated posterior teeth with deeply located margins following deep margin elevation compared to surgical crown lengthening.

Material And Methods: Deep proximal cavities in endodontically treated posterior teeth were randomly assigned into two groups; deep margin elevation (DME) or crown lengthening (CL). The clinical attachment level (CAL), probing depth (PD), bleeding on probing (BOP), crestal bone level (CBL), and secondary caries were evaluated at the baseline, 1, 3, 6, 9, and 12 months.

Background: The pediatric pulmonary multisystem Langerhans cell histiocytosis (PPM LCH) is associated with either low risk or high risk organ(s). The nodulo-cystic lung lesions although pathognomonic, yet are very variable in severity and remain a source of controversy in certifying pulmonary LCH diagnosis. The study aimed to examine the prognostic value of clinical respiratory manifestations and radiological lung lesions severity.

Background: Pediatric classical Hodgkin lymphoma (CHL) is a curable disease; however, the optimal salvage regimen is unclear for relapsed/refractory (R/R) disease. This study aimed to compare response rates, toxicity, event-free survival (EFS), and overall survival (OS) of ifosfamide, carboplatin, and etoposide (ICE) with gemcitabine and vinorelbine (GV) regimen after first-line doxorubicin, bleomycin, vinblastine, dacarbazine (ABVD) in pediatric patients with R/R CHL.

Methods: This is a retrospective cohort study of 132 pediatric patients with R/R CHL treated from July 2012 to December 2020 with ICE (n = 82) or GV (n = 50).

Objective: The present clinical trial was conducted to evaluate the clinical performance of the biomimetic, bilayered structure utilizing a fiber reinforced bulk fill resin composite with a nanohybrid capping layer, compared to incremental packing of nanohybrid resin composite, in deep proximal cavities in permanent molars.

Material And Methods: A total of 36 deep proximal cavities in vital molars were restored either with a bilayered structure of fiber reinforced composite resin as a dentine substitute and a capping layer of nanohybrid composite resin (n=18) or conventional, nanohybrid composite resin incrementation (n=18). The restorations were assessed over a period of 12 months using the modified USPHS criteria.

Aim: This study was conducted to evaluate the remineralization potential of Remin Pro Forte vs Remin Pro remineralizing agents on white spot lesions (WSLs) post-orthodontic treatment.

Materials And Methods: Twenty patients with post-orthodontic WSLs were divided into the following two equal groups based on treatment ( = 10): (1) A 3-month program of hydroxyapatite, fluoride, xylitol, ginger, curcuma-containing cream (Remin Pro Forte) as intervention group; (2) A 3-month cream regimen including hydroxyapatite and fluoride, xylitol (Remin Pro) as control group. The main outcomes including caries regression (assessed by ICDAS II), mineral content (assessed by VistaCam iX camera), and color of WSLs (assessed by digital image analysis by Adobe photoshop) were measured at the time of enrollment and 1, 2, and 3 months afterward.

Background: Although visual inspection is the preferred route in everyday clinical practise for detecting early caries lesions, novel technologies like light fluorescence-based devices (Vista Proof iX HD smart) have been developed to enhance early caries detection.

Material And Methods: Occlusal surface of 45 molar and 49 premolar teeth from 34 adult participants who fulfilled the eligibility criteria were examined by two observers using three diagnostic methods. Examination was performed visually using the International Caries Detection and Assessment System (ICDAS-II) followed by Vista Proof.

Background: Bioactive glass (BAG) remineralization is a promising method for dental hard tissue regeneration. The aim of this study was to evaluate the microhardness of incipient enamel-like lesions with or without preconditioning by air abrasion using polyacrylic acid (PAA)-BAG before application of NovaMin remineralizing agent.

Materials And Methods: Forty extracted human molars were selected, sectioned mesiodistally obtaining buccal and lingual halves, and embedded in resin molds.

Randomized controlled trials are the gold standard of evidence-based medicine. In the field of plastic surgery, designing these studies is much more challenging than in pharmaceutical medicine. Randomized trials in plastic surgery encompass several road blocks including problems shared with other surgical trials: equipoise, high cost, placebo issues and learning curves following the establishment of a novel approach.
