Objective: To assess hearing loss in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients, and to explore its association with disease attributes and activity.
Methods: The cross-sectional case-control study was conducted from June to December 2022 at Al-Imamein Al- Kadhimein Hospital, Medical City, Baghdad, Iraq, and comprised rheumatoid arthritis patients and healthy controls of either gender aged 18-45 years. Data was collected using electronic instruments and a physical examination, including pure tone audiometry and tympanogram.

The estimation of vessels' centerlines is a critical step in assessing the geometry of the vessel, the topological representation of the vessel tree, and vascular network visualization. In this research, we present a novel method for obtaining geometric parameters from peripheral arteries in 3D medical binary volumes. Our approach focuses on centerline extraction, which yields smooth and robust results.

The phenomenon of implant loosening, frequently induced by masticatory activities, underscores the significance of surface modification or texturing to bolster the interaction between the implant and bone tissue. This research comprehensively examines the effects of four distinct surface texturing techniques and five varied bone quality conditions on the biomechanical performance of these implants.

Methodology: Scopus Search Query TITLE-ABS-KEY (intraoral AND scanners AND (dentistry OR digital AND dentistry)). The search query used in Scopus for the bibliometric analysis was "TITLE-ABS-KEY (intraoral AND scanners AND (dentistry OR digital AND dentistry)).
This study aimed to assess the knowledge regarding impacts, causes and management of black triangles (BT) among participants from different educational backgrounds including dental students, dentists and laypeople. This descriptive cross-sectional observational research included 435 participants who comprised 4 groups: pre-clinical (3rd year) dental students, clinical (4th and 5th year) dental students, dentists, and laypeople. A constructed self-reported questionnaire was utilized to assess participants' demographic data and their knowledge of the impacts, causes and management of BT.

Teeth that have lost attachment to a level of the furcation are said to have a furcal invasion or furcation involved.Involvement of furcation in a multi-rooted tooth poses a very different type of clinical situation in terms of establishment of diagnosis, determination of prognosis and of course planning the treatment modality.

This study aimed to assess the physical properties of hybrid PVES materials by analyzing existing data from recent studies on this topic.
Methods: A systematic literature search was conducted to retrieve peer-reviewed articles published up to February 5, 2023.
Acute lung injury (ALI) that develops as a result of AP can progress to acute respiratory distress syndrome. Some hypotheses are proposed to explain the pathophysiology of AP and its related pulmonary hazards. This experiment aimed to evaluate the mitigating action of rivastigmine (Riva) in lung injury that occurs on the top of acute pancreatitis (AP) induced in rats.

Combined characterization through FTIR analysis, elemental analysis and single crystal XRD analysis fully verified the structure of these complexes. The most active iron complex, FeH, exhibited a trisligated nature, with its cation adopting an octahedral geometry around the metal center.

Background: This retrospective study investigated the impact of hemochromatosis on maternal and perinatal outcomes among delivery hospitalizations in the United States between 2010 and 2019, revealing notable trends and associations.
Methods: Utilizing data from over 36 million delivery hospitalizations, we conducted a comprehensive analysis, focusing on maternal complications, perinatal outcomes, and healthcare utilization among women with hemochromatosis compared to those without.
Results: Women with hemochromatosis exhibited a longer length of hospital stay (3.
Biopolymers are organic polymers that can be treated into intricate designs with porous characteristics that mimic essential biologic components. Due to their superior biosafety, biodegradability, biocompatibility, etc., they have been utilized immensely in biomedical engineering, regeneration, and drug delivery.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the maternal and perinatal outcomes of pregnant patients with CRC using a large population-based database.
Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted using the Nationwide Inpatient Sample (NIS) from 2009 to 2019. Pregnant patients with and without CRC were compared for demographic characteristics, comorbidities, maternal and perinatal outcomes, and hospital burden.
Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the incidence, predictors, and impact of lower gastrointestinal bleeding (LGIB) on inpatient mortality among colorectal cancer patients, due to its clinical significance and potential influence on patient outcomes.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of data from the National Inpatient Sample database between 2009 and 2019, including 2,598,326 colorectal cancer patients with and without LGIB. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were performed to determine predictors of LGIB and its association with inpatient outcomes.
Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on substance abuse patterns in recent times. Many people have experienced increased stress, anxiety, and social isolation, which has led to higher rates of substance abuse and addiction. It impacts on the orofacial region, particularly temporomandibular joint (TMJ).

Objective: The objective of this short-term follow-up study was to evaluate the influence of antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (aPDT) as an adjuvant to mechanical debridement (MD) in reducing soft-tissue inflammation and subgingival yeasts colonization (SYC) in patients with peri‑implant mucositis (PiM).
Methods: Individuals diagnosed with PiM were included. Demographic data was collected using a questionnaire.
Background: Immunocompromised individuals with hematological malignancy have increased risk for poor outcomes and death from severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). This special population may mount a suboptimal response to vaccination. We assessed the effectiveness of tixagevimab and cilgavimab (Evusheld), a monoclonal antibody combination against SARS-CoV-2, in conjunction with standard preventative measures, at preventing symptomatic incident infection.

Introduction: Liquid Semisolid Matrix (LSSM) technology involves the filling of drugmixed gel in hard gelatin capsules for different applications.
Methods: In continuation of our previous work on LSSM technology, 10% (w/w) of practically insoluble model drug, mefenamic acid was incorporated in gels of different poloxamers with 8% (w/w) SiO.
Results: Gels exhibited plasticity or pseudoplasticity along thixotropy at 2 and 24 h enabling their easy filling into hard gelatin capsules without content seepage.
