Pakistan is faces significant challenges in meeting its energy demand and consumption needs for consumers. This country's energy production from primary sources such as petroleum and natural gasses is incompetent in fuel-use and hence unable to meet feasibility cost. With an increasing population, Pakistan's energy consumption per capita has been steadily rising.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAsiatic acid (AA) is a polyphenolic compound with potent antioxidative and anti-inflammatory activities that make it a potential choice to attenuate inflammation and oxidative insults associated with ulcerative colitis (UC). Hence, the present study aimed to evaluate if AA can attenuate molecular, biochemical, and histological alterations in the acetic acid-induced UC model in rats. To perform the study, five groups were applied, including the control, acetic acid-induced UC, UC-treated with 40 mg/kg aminosalicylate (5-ASA), UC-treated with 20 mg/kg AA, and UC-treated with 40 mg/kg AA.

Methods: Data was collected by reviewing all reported NSSIs among KSAFH personnel between January 2020 to December 2022.
Results: The prevalence of NSSIs was 2.
Most silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFET models are application-specific. These are already defined by the manufacturers and their parameters are mostly partially accessible due to restrictions. The desired characteristic of any SiC model becomes highly important if an individual wants to visualize the impact of changing intrinsic parameters as well.

Chemotherapy has several limitations such as toxic side effects, high costs, frequent relapses, the development of resistance, and the requirement for long-term treatment. Effective vaccines or drugs to prevent or cure the disease are not available yet.

Schizophrenia (SCZ), a multifactorial neuropsychiatric disorder, is treated with inefficient antipsychotics and linked to poor treatment outcomes. This study, therefore, investigated the combined administration of prodigiosin (PDG) and selenium (NaSeO) against SCZ induced by amphetamine (AMPH) in rats. Animals were allocated into four groups corresponding to their respective 7-day treatments: control, AMPH (2 mg/kg), PDG (300 mg/kg) + NaSeO (2 mg/kg), and AMPH + PDG + NaSeO.

Case Report: We report the case of a 37-year-old female, where intensive treatment with the combination of paclitaxel, carboplatin, irinotecan, and camptothecin with and without irradiation did not avoid metastasis of the tumor and the death of the patient. In an attempt to develop a strategy for individualized tumor therapy, we performed immunohistochemistry of 19 cancer-related proteins using a biopsy sample.
Since its emergence as a pandemic in March 2020, coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outcome has been explored several predictive models, using specific clinical or biochemical parameters. In the current study, we developed an integrative non-linear predictive model of COVID-19 outcome, using clinical, biochemical, immunological, and radiological data of patients with different disease severities. Initially, the immunological signature of the disease was investigated through transcriptomics analysis of nasopharyngeal swab samples of patients with different COVID-19 severity versus control subjects (exploratory cohort, n=61), identifying significant differential expression of several cytokines.

However, medications commonly used in GU treatment cannot normalize gastric mucosa, while causing several adverse effects. Proanthocyanidins (PAs) are dietary flavonoids with numerous biological and pharmacological activities.

In a community health research project in Bauchi State, Nigeria, COVID-19 restrictions precluded planned face-to-face meetings with community groups. We tested the feasibility of using cellular teleconferencing for these meetings.

In this study, the palliative role of protocatechuic acid (PCA) in MSG-administered rats was elucidated. Adult male rats were assigned to four groups, namely control, MSG (4 g/kg), PCA (100 mg/kg), and the last group was co-administered MSG and PCA at aforementioned doses for 7 days.

Background: Immunization is an important strategy for controlling the COVID-19 pandemic. COVID-19 vaccination was recently launched in Uganda, with prioritization to healthcare workers and high-risk individuals. In this study, we aimed to determine the acceptability of COVID-19 vaccine among persons at high risk of COVID-19 morbidity and mortality in Uganda.

Standard reports from imaging studies performed at our institution from October through November 2016 were searched for the words "recommend" or "advised," yielding 9784 studies. Of these, 5245 were excluded, yielding 4539 studies; reports for 1599 of these 4539 consecutive studies were reviewed to identify firm or soft recommendations or findings requiring immediate management.
