The Tendency to Use Substances/Drugs and its Association with Interpersonal Dependence in Iranian Medical Students.

Background: Personality traits or disorders are now attracting more attention as factors in the initiation and continuation of substance/drug use. However, few studies have been conducted on the association between interpersonal dependence and substance/drug use. The present study aimed to investigate the association between this form of psychological dependence and the tendency to use substances/drugs in medical students.

Introduction: Working memory (WM) as one of the executive functions is an essential neurocognitive ability for daily life. Findings have suggested that aging is often associated with working memory and neural decline, but the brain structures and resting-state brain networks that mediate age-related differences in WM remain unclear.

Background And Aim: Dental anxiety is a prevalent issue in society, characterized by an uneasy sensation and anticipation of negative experiences in dental settings. In essence, dental anxiety, oral health literacy, and quality of life may have a relationship with each other, however, there is a shortage of evidence examining the interplay between these factors. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the relationship between dental anxiety and oral health literacy (OHL) with oral health-related quality of life (OHRQOL).

The anxiety response of patients with severe psychiatric disorders to the recent public health crisis.

Background: The devastating health, economic, and social consequences of COVID-19 may harm the already vulnerable groups, particularly people with severe psychiatric disorders (SPDs). The present study was conducted to investigate the anxiety response of patients with SPDs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Methods: A total of 351 patients with SPDs [Schizophrenia Spectrum (SSD), Bipolar (BD), Major Depressive (MDD), and Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Disorders] and healthy controls in Guilan province, Iran, throughout 2021-2022 were included in this cross-sectional analytical study.

Metabolic syndrome in patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Objective: Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a collection of chemical and clinical risk factors. Patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) might be at risk of MetS. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence and clinical correlates of MetS in an Iranian clinical sample of patients with OCD.
