Study Design: A systematic review and meta-analysis of clinical trials.
Objectives: To determine the effect of non-invasive transcutaneous spinal direct current stimulation (tsDCS) on spasticity, activity limitations and participation restrictions in various upper motor neuron diseases.
Methods: Six databases including CINAHL plus, Cochrane CENTRAL, Embase, MEDLINE, SCOPUS and Web of Science were searched for the relevant records from January 2008 to December 2022.
Background: Mental health in medical students is well researched, with physiotherapy students receiving less attention even though psychiatry is a recognised specialty within physiotherapy.
Objectives: To assess the prevalence and correlates of depression, anxiety and stress among physiotherapy clinical students.
Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study design was employed on 402 physiotherapy clinical students aged 17-40 years using a convenience sampling method.
Purpose: Low back pain (LBP) may have a specific or non-specific cause such as abnormal posture or repetitive tasks. For instance, lifting and transferring patients during caregiving for stroke survivors may predispose the caregivers to LBP.
Objectives: The aim of this study is to determine the prevalence of chronic non-specific LBP and factors associated with it in caregivers of stroke survivors.
Background: Self-efficacy has been defined as "people's beliefs about their capabilities to produce designated levels of performance that exercise influence over events that affect their lives." In stroke survivors, impairments in motor, sensory/perceptual, and cognitive functions greatly reduce self-efficacy.
Aim: To translate and cross-culturally adapt the Stroke Self-Efficacy Questionnaire (SSEQ) into Hausa language.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) is effective in the management of patients with central post-stroke pain (CPSP) and post-stroke depression (PSD) individually. However, it is not known if tDCS delivered via dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) can be used to ameliorate both symptoms.
Objective: The purpose of this case report was to share the effectiveness of using tDCS of the DLPFC with short inter-session intervals to reduce central pain and depression in a stroke survivor.
Aim: To translate and cross-culturally adapt the Motor Activity Log (MAL) into Hausa Language.
Method: Forward and backward translations of the questionnaire were done by independent language experts who are fluent in Hausa and English language respectively. The experts reviewed the translation process according to Beaton's guidelines.
Background: Previous studies have revealed that self-related tasks (items) receive more attention than non-self-related, and that they elicit event-related potential (ERP) components with larger amplitudes. Since personality has been reported as one of the biological correlates influencing these components, as well as our behavioural differences, it is important to examine how it affects our self-consciousness in relation to tasks of varied relevance and the neurological basis.
Methods: A total of 33 male and female undergraduate Malaysian medical students of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) participated in the study.
