Background: House officers are susceptible to internet addiction and psychological distress. This study aimed to investigate factors associated with internet addiction among house officers in a Malaysian hospital.

Methods: This is a cross-sectional study of house officers at Hospital Selayang in Selangor, Malaysia.

Structural confirmation of azo compounds synthesize is achieved by mass spectrometry, infrared spectroscopy, and H, C nuclear magnetic resonance. The sample geometry is derived using Density Functional Theory (DFT) and DT-DFT applied to the basis set B3LYPL6-311 + G(d,p).

Green-synthesised silver and zinc oxide nanoparticles from stingless bee honey: Morphological characterisation, antimicrobial action, and cytotoxic assessment.

This study investigated the green synthesis of silver nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) and zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO-NPs) using an aqueous extract of stingless bee honey (SBH) as a reducing and stabilising agent. The rich compositions of SBH containing flavonoids, phenolics, organic acids, sugars, and enzymes makes the SBH extract an ideal biocompatible precursor for the NPs synthesis. Physicochemical characterisation of the synthesised NPs was performed using UV-Vis spectroscopy, FESEM, TEM, XRD, and FTIR spectroscopy.

The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to assess the associations of PCBs and dioxin with MetS and its risk factors, including obesity, hypertriglyceridaemia (HTG), hypertension (HTN) and diabetes mellitus (DM). We searched three electronic databases for epidemiological studies concerning PCBs and dioxin with MetS published up to the end of 2023.

Identifying postoperative cognitive dysfunction after elective coronary artery bypass graft surgery in a tertiary centre in Malaysia.

Postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD) is a significant concern, with incidences reported up to 70% following cardiac surgery. Therefore, we aim to evaluate the incidence of POCD after elective coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery at our single centre over a one-year period from August 2021 to July 2022. We included 34 patients in the study and conducted serial cognitive assessments up to three months post-surgery.
