Background: If complete obliteration of ruptured pediatric arteriovenous malformation (AVM) cannot be achieved, the appropriate follow-up duration and predictors of rebleeding remain unknown.
Observations: Pediatric patients with ruptured AVMs admitted to the authors' hospital within the past 30 years were evaluated. Rebleeding was confirmed in two patients.
SLITRK2 encodes a transmembrane protein that modulates neurite outgrowth and synaptic activities and is implicated in bipolar disorder. Here, we addressed its physiological roles in mice. In the brain, the Slitrk2 protein was strongly detected in the hippocampus, vestibulocerebellum, and precerebellar nuclei-the vestibular-cerebellar-brainstem neural network including pontine gray and tegmental reticular nucleus.

Here, we developed an unbiased, automated, large-scale, cellular-resolution in situ hybridization (ISH)-based gene expression profiling system (GePS) and companion analysis to reveal gene expression patterns in the neonatal New World marmoset cortex, thalamus, and striatum that are distinct from those in mice. Gene-ontology analysis of marmoset-specific genes revealed associations with catalytic activity in the visual cortex and neuropsychiatric disorders in the thalamus.

However, no established clinical rule for predicting thromboembolic events exists. This study aimed to clarify the significance of adding preoperative clopidogrel response value to clinical factors when predicting the occurrence of thromboembolic events during/after coil embolization and to develop a nomogram for thromboembolic event prediction.

This virus shares highly homological sequence with SARS-CoV, and causes acute, highly lethal pneumonia coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) with clinical symptoms similar to those reported for SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV. The most characteristic symptom of patients with COVID-19 is respiratory distress, and most of the patients admitted to the intensive care could not breathe spontaneously.

The detailed vascular architecture of sacral dAVF, including 3-dimensional (3D) angiographic images with operative findings, has not been evaluated compared with that of the thoracic and lumbar levels. We report a case of sacral dAVF with 3D angiographic examination and operative findings, with a literature review.

We report three dtCCF cases in which disappearance of the dtCCF and preservation of the internal carotid artery (ICA) were achieved by stent-assisted coil embolization of the fistula. We report these cases and compare them with those previously reported using other treatments.

Methods: We examined the diameter and resistance to retrieval of the Solitaire FR device (6 × 20 mm) during full and partial deployment model.
Background: In endovascular treatment for cerebral aneurysms, the appearance of asymptomatic thromboembolic lesions detected by postprocedural diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) can be a surrogate marker for estimating the potential risk of symptomatic thromboembolism. The aim of this study was to clarify factors associated with postprocedural DWI-positive lesions in endovascular treatment for unruptured cerebral aneurysms.
Methods: Patients with untreated unruptured cerebral aneurysms undergoing endovascular treatment were consecutively enrolled.
Background: Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) is characterized by reversible edematous lesions on imaging examinations, along with symptoms of altered consciousness disorder and seizures. Various factors associated with PRES have been reported. However, we encountered a very rare case that developed after clipping surgery for unruptured cerebral aneurysm.

Pial AVFs are similarly rare but differ from dural AVFs in that they derive their arterial supply from pial or cortical arterial vessels and do not lie within the intradural region. We report an extremely rare case of dural and pial AVF connected to the same drainer in the middle cranial fossa.

MF-mediated synaptic transmission plays an important role in hippocampal learning and memory. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying MF synaptic development and subsequent functional organization are not fully understood.

To the best of our knowledge this is the first comprehensive digital 3D brain atlas of the common marmoset having normalized multi-modal data, cortical and sub-cortical segmentation, and in a common file format (NIfTI). The atlas can be registered to new data, is useful for connectomics, functional studies, simulation and as a reference.

However, there is some debate as to the suitability of marmosets, compared to more widely used animal models, such as the macaque monkey and mouse. Especially, the usage of marmoset for animal models of human cognition and mental disorders, is still yet to be fully explored.

It is unclear whether their pathogenesis is mediated by gain or loss of function of FUS/TLS.
Results: Here, we established outbred FUS/TLS knockout mice to clarify the effects of FUS/TLS dysfunction in vivo.
Since the availability of the common marmoset monkey as a primate model in neuroscience research has recently increased, much effort has been made to develop a reliable guide of the brain structures of this species. In this article, we review the development of the marmoset brain atlas and discuss a newly developed brain model, which was reconstructed from histological sections under volume-rendering technology. This kind of brain model allows virtual sections to be constructed on any axis, with nomenclatural annotations to structures in situ.

Netrin-G1 and netrin-G2 are trans-synaptic adhesion molecules that distribute on distinct axons, and their presence restricts the expression of their cognate receptors, NGL1 and NGL2, respectively, to specific subdendritic segments of target neurons. However, the neural circuits and functional roles of netrin-G isoform complexes remain unclear.

In eyeblink conditioning, a model of motor learning, the inactivation of or a lesion in the IO impairs the acquisition or expression of conditioned eyeblink responses. Additionally, climbing fibers originating from the IO are believed to transmit the unconditioned stimulus to the cerebellum in eyeblink conditioning.
