Aims: Understanding the healthcare access challenges facing diabetic patients in low- and middle-income countries is very important. The present study investigated the association between availability (physical access) and affordability (economic access) to diabetes healthcare services and the frequency of diabetes-related complications.
Methods: A cross-sectional survey study was conducted between February and May 2023 in Qazvin, Iran.
There is an increasing demand within the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries for biofriendly lipid-based active ingredient delivery systems. Micelles, liposomes, and lipid nanoparticles are currently the most used systems despite their limitations. Oleosomes, also known as lipid droplets, are promising alternatives to the existing strategies.

The aim of this study was to investigate the predictive values of Homeostasis of Model Assessment -Insulin Resistance (HOMA-IR) in early pregnancy to predict GDM development in different body mass index (BMI) and age risk categories.
Materials And Methods: This study is part of the Qazvin Maternal and Neonatal Metabolic Study (QMNMS) in Iran (2018-2021).
Aim: Early-stage diagnosis of diabetes through non-invasive and diagnostic biofluid-like saliva has become a very popular approach to facilitate future preventive interventions and improve patient care. Meanwhile, the alteration of small non-coding RNA in human fluids has been suggested as a probable precedent for the early stages of diabetes.
Methods: In the present study, we checked the expression of miR-320a, 182-5p, 503, and 375 by using quantitative PCR in both stimulated and unstimulated saliva and blood samples of 40 adult patients with type-2 diabetes compared to 40 healthy individuals.
Background: Free-living amoebae (FLA) such as spp., are considered as opportunistic and pathogenic protozoans. granulomatous encephalitis (AGE) is a serious threat for immunodeficient patients and keratitis (AK) for contact lens users.

Objectives: This prospective longitudinal study was conducted on hospitalized COVID-19 patients in Qazvin, Iran, in 2021.
The association of social jetlag (SJL), as a quantitative measure of circadian misalignment, with insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome has been reported. The present study was designed to investigate the association of SJL with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Pregnant women with gestational age ≤14 weeks were enrolled in this longitudinal study.

Background: The anti-inflammatory properties of cannabinoids have been shown. This study was conducted to assess effect of oleoylethanolamide (OEA) supplementation on glycemic status, insulin resistance (IR) and inflammatory factor in pre-diabetic individuals.
Methods: This double-blind randomized clinical trial was done at Qazvin University of Medical Sciences in which 46 pre-diabetic patients were divided into two equal groups and received one 125 mg OEA capsule in the intervention group (23 subjects) and 125 mg capsule containing wheat flour in placebo group daily for 8 weeks.
Introduction: Despite the high prevalence of hypocalcemia in patients with COVID-19, very limited studies have been designed to evaluate etiologies of this disorder. This study was designed to evaluate the status of serum parameters involved in calcium metabolism in patients with COVID-19 and hypocalcemia.
Materials And Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 123 hospitalized patients with COVID-19.
Background: Changes in thyroid function test (TFT) in COVID-19 patients have been reported in several studies. However, some features such as thyrotoxicosis are inconsistent in these studies. In addition, some drugs such as heparin interfere with the free T4 assay.

The zoonotic potential between these hosts is not well understood with data available on prevalence primarily focused on humans. To increase knowledge on prevalence, this review and meta-analysis was performed to estimate the global status of S.

The condition is particularly prevalent in tropical and subtropical areas with low levels of sanitation and poor living conditions. The objective of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to evaluate the prevalence of Trichuris trichiura infection in Asia at the country and region level.

This cross-sectional study was conducted on the patients of endocrinology clinic to compare 25(OH)D levels of weekly or biweekly consumption with the monthly users of vitamin D3 50 000 IU. The level >100 ng/mL of 25(OH)D was defined as hypervitaminosis D.

There are limited studies with regard to the role of some non-traditional factors such as sleep quality in level of IR in obese individuals. The current study aimed at investigating the association of sleep quality with IR in overweight or obese people.

Thus, we designed this study to improve our understanding of salivary miRNA-126 and 135a expression utility as an easy of collection and non-invasive way in diabetic patients instead of blood sample.
Methods: This case-control study was done on TD (n = 40) and healthy individuals (n = 40).
The role of various parasitic infections in the occurrence of appendicitis is illustrated through cases recorded all over the world. The purpose of the current study was to estimate the global prevalence of parasite infestation (other than ) in appendectomy specimens. In the setting of the PRISMA guidelines, multiple databases (Science Direct, Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, and Google Scholar) were explored in articles published until 28 September 2020.
