Fournier's gangrene is a grave necrotizing fasciitis that primarily affects the perineum, spreading through the fascias and leading to significant tissue destruction. The involvement of the urethra in necrosis is extremely rare, if not anecdotal. Emphysematous pyelonephritis, is a urinary infection with a high risk of progression to sepsis.

Congenital obstruction of the upper urinary tract is often caused by the pyeloureteral junction syndrome, the lower polar vessel being the most common extrinsic etiology. We report on a case that was successfully treated using the Vascular HITCH, an alternative method with lower morbidity than Anderson and Hynes pyeloplasty considered the gold standard procedure. Our objective is to outline the aforementioned method and illustrate its ease of use and possible efficacy in carefully chosen adult patients.

A high-performance liquid chromatographic method (HPLC) with UV detection is described for determination of ceftriaxone sodium (CFX) and cefotaxime sodium (CFM) content in pharmaceutical industrial wastewater. These methods are based on the detection of these antibiotics via the formation of chelate complexes with Cu(II). The developed Liquid Chromatographic method offers symmetric peak shape, good resolution and reasonable retention time for both drugs.

Two highly simple, economical, accurate and sensitive spectrophotometric methods for determination of dopamine hydrochloride (DAH) in either pure form and pharmaceutical formulations are described. The first method is based on determination of (DAH) spectrophotometrically at maximum absorbance 280 nm (method A). The second one is based on reduction of alkaline KMnO by (DAH) leading to the formation of green manganate species which are measured at 610 nm (method B).

The focus of this paper is to develop a comprehensive conceptual framework for the relationship between internal employer brand image and talent retention. An extensive and semi-systematic literature review identified a number of antecedents and consequences that have been empirically tested in various cutting-edge research studies that were conducted around the world. The existing literature is reviewed using a topical approach, and 66 research studies, most recent from various repositories, were carefully chosen and reviewed based on the criteria.

Background and aim of the study The aim of this study is to evaluate the changes in the inflammatory mediator's serum amyloid A (SAA), adiponectin, and resistin in the serum of patients with stable angina and acute myocardial infarction. Subjects and methods The study was done on 60 subjects divided into three groups: 20 healthy normal individuals as a control group, 20 patients with stable angina (atherosclerotic plaque), and 20 patients with myocardial infarction. Fasting blood samples were withdrawn from all subjects and serum was prepared.

Background: Advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is commonly diagnosed using non-invasive radiological criteria (NIRC) defined by the European Association for the Study of the Liver or the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases. In 2017, The National Institute for Clinical Excellence mandated histological confirmation of disease to authorise the use of sorafenib in the UK.

Methods: This was a prospective multicentre audit in which patients suitable for sorafenib were identified at multidisciplinary meetings.

Highly simple, sensitive and selective method is developed for the spectrophotometric determination of Metronidazole (MDZ) antibacterial drug either in pure form or in pharmaceutical formulations. This method is based on reduction of potassium permanganate by Metronidazole drug in sodium hydroxide solution to give green manganate ion which recorded at 610 nm. The method produced linear responses in the concentration range 4.

Platinum (Pt)-based-nanomaterials are currently the most successful catalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in electrochemical energy conversion devices such as fuel cells and metal-air batteries. Nonetheless, Pt catalysts have serious drawbacks, including low abundance in nature, sluggish kinetics, and very high costs, which limit their practical applications. Herein, we report the first rationally designed nonprecious Co-Cu bimetallic metal-organic framework (MOF) using a low-temperature hydrothermal method that outperforms the electrocatalytic activity of Pt/C for ORR in alkaline environments.

Visible-light-driven photocatalysis is a green and efficient strategy for wastewater treatment, where graphitic carbon nitride-based semiconductors showed excellent performance in this regard. Consequently, we report on the development of a green and facile one-pot room-temperature ultrasonic route for the preparation of novel ternary nanocomposite of cadmium sulfide quantum dots (CdS QDs), zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs), and graphitic carbon nitride nanosheets (g-CN NSs). The proposed materials had been characterized by several physicochemical techniques such as PXRD, XPS, FE-SEM, HR-TEM, PL, and DRS.

Prostate artery embolization (PAE) is a minimally invasive technique in managing men with lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) secondary to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). BPH is one of the commonest causes of LUTS in men, associated with high morbidity and economic burden. Patients suffering from LUTS secondary to BPH, severe enough to warrant intervention traditionally underwent transurethral resection of the prostate or open prostatectomy.

There is no doubt that cancer is now one of the most formidable diseases in the world; despite all the efforts and research, common treatment routes, including chemotherapy, photodynamic therapy, and photothermal therapy, suffer from different limitations in terms of their efficiency and performance. For this reason, different strategies are being explored to improve the efficiency of the traditional drugs reported to date. In this study, we have redirected the function of one of these drugs (5-fluorouracil, 5-FU) by combining it with a graphene-gold nanocomposite in different molar ratios that has been exceedingly used for biological research development.

Chromatin compaction mediates progenitor to post-mitotic cell transitions and modulates gene expression programs, yet the mechanisms are poorly defined. Snf2h and Snf2l are ATP-dependent chromatin remodelling proteins that assemble, reposition and space nucleosomes, and are robustly expressed in the brain. Here we show that mice conditionally inactivated for Snf2h in neural progenitors have reduced levels of histone H1 and H2A variants that compromise chromatin fluidity and transcriptional programs within the developing cerebellum.
