This paper presents a novel room temperature phosphorescence sensor (IMIPs-ZnS QDs RTP sensor) based on inorganic surface molecularly imprinted polymers and Mn-doped ZnS quantum dots (QDs) for the rapid detection of trace melamine (MEL) in commercial milk products. The surface of Mn-ZnS QDs was modified with 3-(mercaptopropyl) trimethoxy silane (MPTS). Then, MEL, 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) and tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) were used as a template/target molecule, functional monomer, and cross-linker, respectively.

Development of molecularly imprinted solid-phase extraction (MISPE) sorbents for the removal of drugs from human urine is described. MISPE sorbents are synthesized through free radical polymerization mechanism and non-covalent imprinting approach. After the completion of the polymerization, bulk polymer is ground using an analytical mill and then wet-sieved.

This study presents a novel, sensitive and selective molecularly imprinted solid-phase extraction (MISPE)-spectrofluorimetric method for the removal and determination of atenolol from human urine. Molecularly imprinted and non-imprinted polymers were synthesized thermally using a radical chain polymerization technique and used as solid-phase extraction sorbents. Acrylic acid ethylene glycol dimethacrylate, dibenzoyl peroxide and dichloroethane were used as a functional monomer, cross-linker, initiator and porogen, respectively.

A simple, sensitive, and selective molecularly imprinted solid-phase extraction and spectrophotometric method has been developed for the clean-up and preconcentration of indapamide from human urine. Molecularly imprinted polymers were prepared by a non-covalent imprinting approach using indapamide as a template molecule, 2-(trifluoromethyl) acrylic acid as a functional monomer, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as a crosslinker, N,N-azobisisobutyronitrile as a thermal initiator and acetonitrile as a porogenic solvent. A non-imprinted polymer was also prepared in the same way, but in the absence of template.

A novel molecularly imprinted solid-phase extraction with spectrofluorimetry method has been developed for the selective extraction of telmisartan from human urine. Molecularly imprinted polymers were prepared by a noncovalent imprinting approach through UV-radical polymerization using telmisartan as a template molecule, 2-dimethylamino ethyl methacrylate as a functional monomer, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as a cross-linker, N,N-azobisisobutyronitrile as an initiator, chloroform as a porogen. Molecularly imprinted polymers and nonimprinted control polymer sorbents were dry-packed into solid-phase extraction cartridges, and eluates from cartridges were analyzed using a spectrofluorimeter.

A novel, simple, sensitive and selective solid-phase extraction (SPE)-spectrofluorimetric method has been developed for the determination of atenolol (ATE) in human urine. Because an extraction procedure is required to isolate ATE or eliminate the interfering molecules present in complex human urine for the direct spectrofluorimetric determination, a pH-sensitive poly(acrylic acid-ethylene glycol dimethacrylate) [poly(AA-EGDMA)] hydrogel was developed and used as a SPE adsorbent. Some factors affecting the ATE extraction efficiency, such as washing solvent type and volume, and the volume of elution solvent were optimized.

In this study, a simple, sensitive and selective spectroflourimetric method has been developed for the determination of salmon calcitonin (sCT) in ampules. The method is based on the reaction between sCT and fluorescamine at pH 8.5 in borate buffer, resulting in a highly fluorescent derivative.

Biodegradable dextran hydrogels were synthesized by crosslinking dextran (T-70) with epichlorohydrin (ECH) for the in vitro colon-specific delivery of salmon calcitonin (sCT). Crosslinking reaction was performed in 2.8 M NaOH solution both in the presence and absence of ethanol at 10 and 23 degrees C.

A non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent, diclofenac sodium (DFNa), was incorporated into the pH-sensitive monolithic systems prepared by crosslinking/copolymerization of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) with acrylate-based acidic and basic comonomers, i.e. acrylic acid (AA) and dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate (DMAEMA).
