Changes in Motor Skill Proficiency After Equine-Assisted Activities and Brain-Building Tasks in Youth With Neurodevelopmental Disorders.

There is a lack of current research to support the efficacy of a combination of equine-assisted activities (EAA) and brain building activities to influence motor skill competencies in youth with neurodevelopmental disorders (ND). The primary objective of this study was to quantify changes in motor skill proficiency before and after 8 weeks of EAA and brain-building activities in youth with ND. A secondary objective was to quantify changes in motor skill proficiency before and after 1 year of EAA and brain-building activities in youth with ND.

Astronomical time-of-flight photon speedometer.

A dual-band, fiber-optic, photon time-of-flight instrument was developed. Its design was optimized for measuring the velocity of visible photons emanating from relatively dim astronomical sources (apparent magnitude m>12), such as distant galaxies and quasars. We have designed a new family of layered Sn(iv)phosphonate (SnPP) materials which are very efficient catalysts in the BV oxidation of aromatic aldehydes without any solvent and using aqueous H(2)O(2) (30%) as the oxidant.

Activation of cyclin-dependent kinase 2 by full length and low molecular weight forms of cyclin E in breast cancer cells.

Cyclin E, a positive regulator of the cell cycle, controls the transition of cells from G(1) to S phase. Deregulation of the G(1)-S checkpoint contributes to uncontrolled cell division, a hallmark of cancer. We have reported previously that cyclin E is overexpressed in breast cancer and such overexpression is usually accompanied by the appearance of low molecular weight isoforms of cyclin E protein, which are not present in normal cells.
