Characteristics of suitable cases for treatment with nemolizumab based on clinical findings and cutaneous adverse events.

Nemolizumab is an effective treatment for pruritus in atopic dermatitis, but it has a relatively high incidence of cutaneous adverse events (cAEs). To optimize the use of nemolizumab, we investigated the relationship between baseline severity in specific body areas and the frequency of cAEs. Our findings revealed that cases who discontinued treatment with nemolizumab had more severe erythema and edema/papulation on the trunk than those who continued nemolizumab.

An Unusual Case of Bilateral Lower Extremity Edema in the Elderly: Immunoglobulin A (IgA) Vasculitis.

We report a case of a 74-year-old male who exhibited bilateral lower extremity edema over three days. Examination revealed no signs of heart, renal, or hepatic failure, and hypothyroidism was also ruled out. An outpatient regimen of 40 mg furosemide was initiated.

Background: Prurigo nodularis is a chronic disease characterized by a hard dome-like or wart-like nodule which is solitary and does not fuse. Prurigo nodularis presents as one of the symptoms of atopic Dermatitis (AD).

Cases: We present three cases of AD children with intractable prurigo nodularis.

Background: Immediate-type wheat allergy due to hydrolyzed wheat protein (HWP-IWA) supplemented soap has been a serious social issue. We investigated the significance of challenge test and other tests not only to diagnose HWP-IWA but to know the symptoms of each patients.

Methods: From January 2010 to June 2012, we performed challenge test in 41 cases with positive prick test of Glupearl 19S®, a major allergic HWP found in Cha no Shizuku®.

The Relationship between Symptom Flare of Atopic Dermatitis and Airborne Japanese Cedar and Cypress Pollen Counts: A Self-Scoring Diary Study.

Background. With an increase in Japanese cedar and cypress (JC) pollinosis, the relationship between JC pollen and atopic dermatitis (AD) has been studied. Some reports suggest that JC pollen can be one exacerbating factor for AD, but there has been no report that discusses JC pollen counts relating to AD symptom flare although actual airborne JC pollen counts can widely fluctuate throughout the pollen season.

[Treatment of facial lesion in infantile and childhood atopic dermatitis].

Background: Treatment of infantile and childhood atopic dermatitis needs special consideration compared to adult's counterpart. Repeated exposure to irritation by slaver or rubbing makes facial lesions difficult to treat in infants and children. We considered the deterioration factor and the treatment that we performed.
