We conducted a phase II study of OK-432 intrapleural administration followed by systemic chemotherapy using cisplatin with gemcitabine to determine their combined effects on non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with pleuritis carcinomatosa. Between December 1999 and October 2001, 15 patients were registered in the study. Fourteen patients had an Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status (PS) of 1, and one patient had a PS of 2.
