Epithelial to Mesenchymal transition (EMT) drives cancer metastasis and is governed by genetic and epigenetic alterations at multiple levels of regulation. It is well established that loss/mutation of p53 confers oncogenic function to cancer cells and promotes metastasis. Though transcription factors like ZEB1, SLUG, SNAIL and TWIST have been implied in EMT signalling, p53 mediated alterations in the epigenetic machinery accompanying EMT are not clearly understood.

Summary: Bistable biochemical switches are key motifs in cellular state decisions and long-term storage of cellular 'memory'. There are a few known biological switches that have been well characterized, however, these examples are insufficient for systematic surveys of properties of these important systems. Here we present a resource of all possible bistable biochemical reaction networks with up to six reactions between three molecules, and three reactions between four molecules.

Current experiments touch only small but overlapping parts of very complex subcellular signaling networks in neurons. Even with modern optical reporters and pharmacological manipulations, a given experiment can only monitor and control a very small subset of the diverse, multiscale processes of neuronal signaling. We have developed FindSim (Framework for Integrating Neuronal Data and SIgnaling Models) to anchor models to structured experimental datasets.
