Alkaptonuria (AKU) is a rare genetic disorder where oxidised homogentisic acid accumulates in connective tissues, leading to multisystem disease. The clinical evaluation Alkaptonuria Severity Score Index (cAKUSSI) is a composite score that assesses the extent of AKU disease.
