Background: Chronic subdural hematoma (cSDH) is a common entity in the elderly. Homogeneous or well-liquefied CSDH has a standard line of treatment through burr hole and irrigation. However, the management of septated chronic subdural hematoma (sCSDH) with multiple membranes does not have a well-defined surgical approach.

We evaluated the infectious and non-infectious complications associated with a modified technique for EVD using an Ommaya reservoir.
Methods: Ommaya reservoir was placed in all patients who required EVD placement for CSF drainage.

First reported case of simultaneous occurrence of hemangiopericytomas(HCP) at multiple sites of craniospinal axis in a thirty four year male is presented. Patient presented with neck pain for 1 year, and one episode of simple partial seizure involving his left lower limb. He was diagnosed as having HCP in right middle one third parasagittal region, and C4,5 vertebral bodies.

Many disposable, mountable port systems are available in the market for this purpose, like the ViewSite Brain Access System. The objective of this study was to find a cost-effective substitute for these systems.

Gliosarcomas are lesions with both glial and sarcomatous elements and are usually seen abutting the dura. Intraventricular location is extremely rare. Such an unusual intraventricular gliosarcoma is being reported.

Ventral pathologies in the cervical spine and cervicodorsal regions also provide unique surgical challenges. Traditional posterior surgical approaches to the ventral cervical pathologies require significant cord retraction, and anterior approaches require significant bone removal with implant stabilization.

However, their role in delayed cerebral ischemia (DCI), the major cause of morbidity after subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) remains unclear. This study was an attempt to evaluate the spectrum of lipid profile changes in SAH compared to matched controls, and their relation with the occurrence of DCI.

This study was carried out to assess its prognostic impact on the neurological outcome following SAH.
Methods: Admission plasma tHcy was evaluated in 90 SAH patients and prospectively studied in relation to various factors and the Glasgow Outcome Scale (GOS) at 3 months.
Background: Operative localization systems such as stereotactic frames and neuronavigation are prohibitively expensive to be of use in many centers in developing countries. Here, we present a modified version of marker-computed tomography (CT) assisted technique using a household key ring, which can be performed in any operative set-up lacking modern amenities.
Case Description: For a patient who presents with left posterior frontal lesion, the approximate entry point for the shortest and perpendicular trajectory to the lesion is marked on the scalp using a household key ring and fixed in place.
Background: Symptomatic vasospasm (SV) is often seen after aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH). The pathophysiology suggests that platelets initiate the process and are consumed. This is likely to result in thrombocytopenia.

Method: The authors describe three cases of CEFs of the cranium, their mode of injury, clinical findings, radiological images and management problems. The authors have reviewed the existing literature regarding epidemiological data, neurological status, dural breech, methods of management and final outcome, in respect of CEFs.
