Focal myositis, the much rarer clinical and pathological variant of polymyositis, is generally a benign inflammatory pseudotumor of skeletal muscle Thus far, only three cases have been reported in association with a neoplasm. We now describe a fourth case of localized gluteal myositis seen in a case of signet ring adenocarcinoma of the stomach occurring not as a paraneoplastic syndrome, as in the previously reported three cases, but as an immunoinflammatory response around metastatic cell foci in both the involved muscles and local lymphatics.

We report our experience of 32 patients, which were subjected to Computerised tomography (CT) guided transthoracic fine needle aspiration biopsy (T-FNAB) with particular reference to technique, sensitivity and complication rate following the procedure. The biopsy aspirate was obtained either using a spinal or a Chiba needle. Pneumothorax occurred in 7 patients and transient postbiopsy haemoptysis in 2 patients.

A study of 186 infertile women was carried out to evaluate the effect of clomiphene citrate on the follicular dynamics. All patients underwent transvaginal sonography over at least 02 consecutive cycles-spontaneous followed by clomiphene stimulated cycle. Clomiphene citrate resulted in higher average follicular diameter on all corresponding days as compared to spontaneous cycles.

Transvaginal sonohysterography was carried out with dynamic instillation of normal saline in the uterine cavity in fourteen infertile patients. Sonohysterography was found to be simple, accurate and specific in delineating endometrial cavity lesions like polyp, submucosal myoma, intrauterine synechiae and endometrial hyperplasia.

Transabdominal sonography (TAS) and Transvaginal sonography (TVS) were compared for follicular monitoring in 73 patients of infertility. These patients were referred for follicular monitoring in normal and stimulated cycles from infertility clinic. Patient compliance and acceptance was excellent for TVS technique as compared to TAS technique.
