Autoencoder imputation of missing heterogeneous data for Alzheimer's disease classification.

Missing Alzheimer's disease (AD) data is prevalent and poses significant challenges for AD diagnosis. Previous studies have explored various data imputation approaches on AD data, but the systematic evaluation of deep learning algorithms for imputing heterogeneous and comprehensive AD data is limited. This study investigates the efficacy of denoising autoencoder-based imputation of missing key features of heterogeneous data that comprised tau-PET, MRI, cognitive and functional assessments, genotype, sociodemographic, and medical history.

Background: Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a severe complication of acute diarrheal diseases; however, there is limited data on post-diarrheal AKI (PD-AKI) epidemiology and outcomes. This study aimed to investigate the clinicodemographic profile and outcomes of PD-AKI in our hospital.

Our Experience of OSAKA Regimen (Bladder Preservation) in Patients with Advanced Bladder Cancer.

Introduction And Objectives: OSAKA regimen is a novel bladder preservation therapy involving balloon-occluded selective arterial infusion of radio-sensitizing chemotherapeutic agent with concurrent hemodialysis (HD), followed by radiation therapy. Objectives are to study the feasibility of this novel regimen in patients with advanced cancer bladder (Ca Bladder).

Methods: Two patients having advanced Ca Bladder with cisplatin ineligibility and poor performance status were managed with OSAKA regimen.

Context: During the evacuation of a residence during a fire event, individuals must often climb over objects or navigate stairs, which may be challenging or impossible for an individual who uses a wheelchair or scooter for mobility. Consequently, fire preparedness is critical to enhancing this population's safety and well-being.

Objective: This study examines best practices associated with fire preparedness among individuals who use a wheelchair or scooter to inform and facilitate fire preparedness education.

Performance of Xpert MTB/RIF assay on thoracoscopic pleural biopsy in undiagnosed exudative pleural effusion.

Aims: The aim of the study was to determine the performance of Xpert MTB/RIF assay in diagnosing tuberculosis on thoracoscopic pleural biopsies in exudative pleural effusion.

Methods: Patients who underwent thoracoscopic pleural biopsy in the defined period were included in the study. Histopathology was done for all and Xpert MTB RIF assay and AFB culture of pleural biopsy specimen and pleural fluid were done as per the clinician's discretion.

Background: Allergen immunotherapy (AIT) involves the regimen of gradually incrementing doses of the allergen, thereby inducing desensitization and tolerance. Sublingual Immunotherapy tablets (SLIT-tablets) have been formulated for several allergies and had manifested efficacy for allergic rhinitis and allergic asthma. SLIT promises an alternative method to other routes of AIT enabling patients to self-administer AIT.
