Solution-based (multi)metal oxide synthesis has been carried out employing a large diversity of precursor routes. The selection of an appropriate synthesis strategy is frequently dictated by the resulting material properties, although this choice should also be based on green chemistry principles, atom economy considerations and energy efficiency. In order to limit the required energy budget to convert the chemical precursor to the target oxide material, various approaches were recently reported.

3D printing technique has been utilised to develop novel and complex drug delivery systems that are almost impossible to produce by employing conventional formulation techniques. For example, this technique may be employed to produce tablets or Fast Dissolving oral Films (FDFs) with multilayers of active ingredients, which are personalised to patient's needs. In this article, we compared the production of FDFs by 3D printing to conventional methods such as solvent casting.

Purpose: Current models of psychosis posit a developmental and maintaining role for anxiety, supported by robust empirical evidence. Given the central role for anxiety in psychosis, valid and reliable assessment is necessary. This systematic review is the first to critically appraise measures of anxiety applied to psychosis samples.

Background: It remains unclear whether results differ between a Latarjet procedure performed after a failed arthroscopic Bankart repair and one performed as the primary operation.

Purpose: To compare the postoperative outcomes of the Latarjet procedure when performed as primary surgery and as revision for a failed arthroscopic Bankart repair.

Study Design: Cohort study; Level of evidence, 3.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the clinical results of the Latarjet procedure using two cortical buttons vs two screws. It was hypothesized that cortical button would result in similar rates of recurrent dislocations, but a lower rate of reoperation compared to screw fixation.

Methods: A retrospective comparative case-cohort analysis was performed for all patients undergoing a Latarjet procedure for recurrent anterior glenohumeral instability.

Article Synopsis
  • A survey conducted in 100 gyms in Curitiba involving 5773 individuals aimed to assess the use of anabolic steroids (AS) among resistance trainers.
  • The results showed that 83.2% of respondents did not use AS, while 16.9% of men and 6.5% of women had either used or intended to use them, with male users significantly outnumbering female users.
  • The findings suggest that a gym's environment fosters AS use for aesthetic reasons, highlighting the need for preventive measures targeting younger, university-educated, and single gym-goers who train longer.

Background: Thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) is challenging to diagnose, as the physical findings and investigations lack sensitivity and/or specificity. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with dynamic manoeuvres can rule out a tumour and detect anatomical abnormalities potentially responsible for compression. The objective of this study was to assess the sensitivity and specificity of MRI for identifying anatomical structures responsible for compression in TOS, using intra-operative findings as the diagnostic reference standard.

Background: Antenatal maternal psychological distress is common in low and middle-income countries (LMIC), but there is a dearth of research on its effect on birth and developmental outcomes in these settings, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa. This study set out to identify risk factors for antenatal maternal psychological distress and determine whether antenatal maternal psychological distress was associated with infant birth and developmental outcomes, using data from the Drakenstein Child Health Study (DCHS), a birth cohort study in South Africa.

Methods: Pregnant women were enrolled in the DCHS from primary care antenatal clinics.

The recent cost-driven transition from silver- to copper-based inks for printing on flexible substrates is connected with new key challenges. Given the high oxidation sensitivity of copper inks before, during, and after the curing process, the conductivity and thereby the device performance can be affected. Strategies to limit or even avoid this drawback include the development of metal organic decomposition (MOD) inks with selected "protective" ligands.

Article Synopsis
  • Accurate protein quantification is essential for predicting biological interactions, especially in systems biology and drug discovery; however, mouse platelets have limited data compared to human platelets, which may impact research findings.
  • The study aimed to explore differences in protein levels between mouse and human platelets in the glycoprotein VI (GPVI) signaling pathway by measuring receptor copy numbers and using a mathematical model.
  • Results showed that mouse platelets had a higher density of receptors and signaling proteins, but similar Syk activity patterns were observed in both species, indicating that the spatial arrangement of signaling molecules may be more crucial than just their quantity for effective signaling.

Introduction: Contouring has become an increasingly important aspect of radiation therapy due to inverse planning, and yet is extremely time-consuming. To improve contouring efficiency and reduce potential inter-observer variation, the atlas-based auto-segmentation (ABAS) function in Velocity was introduced to ICON cancer centres (ICC) throughout Australia as a solution for automatic contouring.

Methods: This paper described the implementation process of the ABAS function and the construction of user-defined atlas sets and compared the contouring efficiency before and after the introduction of ABAS.

Background: The preoperative number of dislocations has been previously proved to be a major factor influencing the results after Bankart repair with more preoperative dislocations correlated with higher recurrence rates and more reoperations. This could possibly be because of the lower quality of the tissue repaired during the procedure after multiple dislocations. On the other hand, the Latarjet procedure does not "repair" but rather reconstructs and augments the anterior glenoid.

Drug addiction remains a prevalent and fatal disease worldwide that carries significant social and economic impacts. Recent reports suggest illicit pregabalin (Lyrica) use may be increasing among youth, however the addictive potential of pregabalin has not been well established. Drug seeking behavior and chronic drug use are associated with deficits in glutamate clearance and activation of postsynaptic glutamatergic receptors.

Unlabelled: Posterosuperior (or internal) impingement at the shoulder is defined as contact between the underside of the supraspinatus or infraspinatus tendons with the posterosuperior labrum during extreme external rotation and abduction. In many cases, this contact damages the tendon and causes mirror posterosuperior labrum deterioration. The primary aim of this study was to define whether this contact occurs normally in patients who do not have a rotator cuff tear.
