Objective: In many dental schools worldwide, theoretical knowledge is prioritized over comprehensive training in essential clinical procedures. This leads to graduates with insufficient hands-on experience who are not fully "ready to practice", thereby failing to meet the demands of the job market and community needs. This study aimed to address this critical gap by developing and validating a set of core Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) specifically for operative dentistry clerkships to enhance the practical competencies and readiness of dental graduates for effective and independent practice.

Programming courses in computer science play a crucial role as they often serve as students' initial exposure to computer programming. Many university students find introductory courses overwhelming due to the vast amount of information they need to grasp. The traditional teacher-lecturer model used in university lecture halls frequently leads to low motivation and student participation.

Background & Objective: It's no secret that medical students have access to a plethora of medical literature, which can make it challenging to determine the right sources and how to cover them effectively using various study habits and strategies. Our objective was to determine the association of study habits (time and location), study duration, study strategies, and study sources with academic performance.

Methods: It was a cross-sectional study conducted in six Medical Colleges in Peshawar, Pakistan between 13 April 2023 to 13 Jun 2023.

Background: Misusing alcohol can cause damage to different tissues in the body, resulting in conditions like alcoholic liver disease, pancreatitis, cardiomyopathy, neurotoxicity, muscle wasting, weakened immune system, hormonal disruptions, birth defects, and bone loss. The objective of this research was to evaluate how alcohol affects the exocrine pancreas histology and the levels of amylase in the blood serum. Additionally, it aimed to explore whether vitamin E provides a safeguard against alcohol-induced harm to the pancreas in rabbits.

Background: Alcohol consumption can have detrimental effects on the liver, as it plays a crucial role in processing and detoxifying substances in the body, including alcohol. Alcohol has the potential to hinder the liver's capacity, which results in a variety of metabolic imbalances and deficiencies. This research aimed to investigate alterations in the liver tissue due to alcohol administered orally, along with exploring the potential protective effects of vitamin E against these alterations.

Burning of fossil fuels along with deforestation and ecological disruption have led to the warming of the Earth and climate change. Children are especially vulnerable to adverse health effects of climate change associated changes in the air, soil, and water as their organs are still developing, have a faster breathing rate, higher per pound ingested and inhaled exposures, and greater relative body surface area. To protect this vulnerable population, health care professionals need to play a leading role.

The strength of a systematic review hinges in large part on the quality of evidence it appraises. Observational studies, including cohort studies and case series, are positioned lower on the hierarchy of evidence, with cohort studies typically higher than case series. The often subtle differences between these study designs may lead to misclassification and can impact the strength of recommendations derived from such data.

  • Antibiotic-associated diarrhea (AAD) commonly occurs due to antibiotic treatments disrupting gut microbiota, prompting research into the effectiveness of probiotics to prevent this issue.
  • The study aimed to evaluate how effective probiotics are in reducing AAD symptoms in adults compared to a placebo, enrolling 340 participants across various hospitals.
  • Results showed that the probiotic group had a significantly lower incidence of AAD (18.23%) compared to the placebo group (31.17%), indicating that probiotics may be beneficial in preventing this complication.

Introduction Contact with the dust of cement consisting of toxic components brings about inflammatory damage (often irreversible) to the body of a human being. The circulatory system exhibits sensitivity to inflammatory changes in the body, and one of the earliest changes may be observed in the blood parameters like mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH) and mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC). MCHC and MCH are possibly easily accessible and affordable parameters that can detect harmful changes in the body before any irreversible damage occurs.

Targeting epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutants is a promising strategy for treating non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This study focused on the computational identification and characterization of potential EGFR mutant-selective inhibitors using pharmacophore design and validation by deep learning, virtual screening, ADMET (Absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion and toxicity), and molecular docking-dynamics simulations. A pharmacophore model was generated using Pharmit based on the potent inhibitor JBJ-125, which targets the mutant EGFR (PDB 5D41) and is used for the virtual screening of the Zinc database.
