Objectives: Vascular Behçet's disease (VBD) is prevalent in 40% of BD, but lacks laboratory biomarker for timely diagnosis. We aimed to establish a diagnostic panel for discerning VBD and non-VBD patients and identify hemostatic-thrombotic markers most related to VBD pathogenesis using machine learning algorithm.
Objectives: A total of 338 BD patients comprising 123 VBD and 215 non-VBD were enrolled.
Background: The bean flower thrips, Megalurothrips usitatus, poses a great threat to cowpea and other legume cultivars. Chemical insecticides have been applied to control M. usitatus, but have resulted in little profit because of the rapid evolution of insecticide resistance.

Aim: To study the effect and elucidate the underlying mechanisms of VDAC1-ΔC on autophagy in renal tubular epithelial cells injured by hypoxia/reoxygenation.
Methods: C57/BL6 mice were randomly divided into groups: sham operation group, IRI 1d group and IRI 2d group. The inner canthal blood of mice was collected to detect the levels of serum creatinine and urea nitrogen and kidney tissues were sampled, and sections were stained with Periodic acid-Schiff for morphological evaluation.
Background: Anti-mitochondrial M2 antibody (AMA-M2) is a specific marker for primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) and it could be also presented in non-PBC individuals.
Methods: A total of 72173 Chinese health check-up individuals tested AMA-M2, of which non-PBC AMA-M2 positive individuals were performed follow-up. Baseline data of both clinical characteristics and laboratory examinations were collected in all AMA-M2-positive individuals.

Immunotherapy options for immune cold tumors, like prostate cancer, are limited. We show that AR downregulates MHCI expression/antigen presentation and that AR inhibition improves T-cell responses and tumor control. This suggests that treatments combining AR inhibitors and checkpoint blockade may improve tumor immune surveillance and antitumor immunity in patients.

In the present study, we used 6,193 whole-genome sequenced tumors to study the contributions of transcription and DNA replication collisions to genome instability. After deconvoluting robust SV signatures in three independent pan-cancer cohorts, we detected transcription-dependent, replicated-strand bias, the expected footprint of transcription-replication collision (TRC), in large tandem duplications (TDs).

There are few and inconclusive data about the role of immune checkpoints for T cell exhaustion/activation during SARS-CoV-2 infection in multiple myeloma (MM) patients.
Methods: We tested T cell subsets and immune checkpoints in 177 MM patients with COVID-19, as well as in 32 healthy infected controls and 42 uninfected MM patients.

Metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) is a lethal disease that resists therapy targeting androgen signaling, the primary driver of prostate cancer. mCRPC resists androgen receptor (AR) inhibitors by amplifying AR signaling or by evolving into therapy-resistant subtypes that do not depend on AR. Elucidation of the epigenetic underpinnings of these subtypes could provide important insights into the drivers of therapy resistance.

A variety of amines containing symmetric and identical γ-C(sp)-H and γ-C(sp)-H reacted with a diverse range of aryl and heteroaryl iodides to provide γ-monoarylated products exclusively.

Patients And Methods: We included 97 patients with COVID-19 of different severities attending Peking Union Medical College Hospital from December 2022 to January 2023. Patients were divided into three groups according to oxygen and mechanical ventilation use during specimen collection and were followed for survival and death at 3 months.
Fluoroalkyl-grafted polyoxometalate nanoclusters are used as supramolecular additives to precisely modify the ionic domains of Nafion, which can increase the proton conductivity and selectivity simultaneously. The resulting hybrid membranes show significantly enhanced power density in fuel cells and improved energy efficiency in vanadium flow batteries.

Many genes have alternative promoters (APs) bound by distinct TFs. The role of differential TF activity at APs during tumour development is poorly understood.

Lacking satisfying laboratory biomarkers in NBD impedes standard clinical diagnostics. We aim to explore the ancillary indicators for NBD diagnosis unveiling its potential etiology.
