Objective: To investigate the anatomical basis and clinical efficiency of the advancement distance in dorsal digital V-Y advancement flap.

Materials And Methods: Thirty-four fingers in 11 fresh adult hand specimen were selected, V-Y flap was performed with the digital artery as vascular pedicle, and the advancement distance was measured. The relationship between the distance and extensibility of skin, sliding degree of subcutaneous superficial fascia, angular displacement of digital arterial dorsal branch, elasticity of digital artery was discussed.

Partial great toe transfer is widely used in finger reconstruction. Although satisfactory results have been reported at the recipient's hand, the donor foot still presents with many problems due to the large amount of tissues harvested. In this study, the Ilizarov technique was utilized to enlarge the great toe in order to minimize the amount of tissue sacrificed of the donor foot.

Introduction: Composite injuries of the volar surfaces of fingers are frequently associated with digital vessel and nerve damage. Flow-through glabrous flaps can provide esthetic tissue coverage as well as revascularization, and using a neurovascular flap, allows primary reconstruction of the digital nerve.

Methods: Between June 2010 and August 2014, we prospectively studied the use of Microsurgical flow-through glabrous flaps to achieve simultaneously digital revascularization and soft tissue coverage in 13 fingers of 12 patients who experienced volar injuries, comprising 6 great toe fibular flaps, 3 medial plantar flaps, 1 pedis medialis flap, and 3 hypothenar flaps.
