Low-molecular-weight compounds of certain structural features may form coacervates through liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS). These coacervates can enter mammalian cells and affect cellular physiology. Controlling the properties of the coacervates inside cells, however, is a challenge.

We herein report a dual-locking bioconjugation approach to address this challenge. A dual-locked cyclopeptide-siRNA conjugate (DPRC) was designed to simultaneously endow siRNA with tumor-targeting properties and tumor-biomarker/visible-light dually controllable action.

Herein we analyzed the association between intraoperative hyperthermia and AKI following CRS-HIPEC.
Methods: In this retrospective cohort study, we collected baseline and perioperative data from patients who underwent CRS-HIPEC mainly for pseudomyxoma peritonei between 2014 and 2020.
The identification of specific spatial patterns of immune checkpoint expression that correlate with overall survival in patients with colon cancer suggests a potential prognostic tool for risk stratification and treatment selection. These findings pave the way for the development of novel therapeutic strategies to enhance antitumor immune responses.

To the best of our knowledge, there has been no bibliometric analysis of the SGB until now.
Objective: Our study aimed to complete multiple tasks regarding SGB research: identify the collaboration and impact of countries, institutions, journals, and authors, evaluate the knowledge base, trace the trends in hot spots, and explore the emerging topics relevant to the field.
Background: Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are a large class of RNAs present in mammals. Among these, is a well-acknowledged circRNA with significant implications, particularly in the development and progression of diverse tumors. However, the potential consequences of depletion on male reproduction are yet to be thoroughly investigated.

We developed a three-dimensional porous, bimetallic-modified adsorbent La-Ca-CS/ATP to remove excess phosphate from water. Langmuir model showed that the theoretical adsorption capacity of La-Ca-CS/ATP was up to 123 mg P/g.

The anti-solvent-free fabrication of high-efficiency perovskite solar cells (PSCs) holds immense significance for the transition from laboratory-scale to large-scale commercial applications. However, the device performance is severely hindered by the increased occurrence of surface defects resulting from the lack of control over nucleation and crystallization of perovskite using anti-solvent methods. In this study, 2-(naphthalen-2-yl)ethylamine hydriodide (NEAI) is employed as the surface passivator for perovskite films without using any anti-solvent.

Since metal salts of unsaturated carboxylic acid can be used to reinforce rubber, this study explores the innovative application of in-situ modified steel slag, mainly comprising metal oxides, with methacrylic acid (MAA) as a rubber filler partially replacing carbon black. By etching the surface of steel slag particles with MAA, their surface roughness was increased, and the chemical bonding of metal methacrylate salt was introduced to enhance their interaction with the molecular chain of natural rubber (NR).

Methods: We conducted a prospective, double-blind, biased coin up-and-down study.
Targeted immunotherapies capitalize on the exceptional binding capabilities of antibodies to stimulate a host response that effectuates long-lived tumor destruction. One example is the conjugation of immunoglobulins (IgGs) to immune effector cells, which equips the cells with the ability to recognize and accurately kill malignant cells through a process called antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC). In this study, a chemoenzymatic reaction is developed that specifically functionalizes a single tyrosine (Tyr, Y) residue, Y296, in the Fc domain of therapeutic IgGs.

The microstructure enhancement was analyzed using an optical microscope (OM). The results were further confirmed with Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and Energy Dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy.

Prior flavivirus genome recoding attempts utilised codon deoptimisation approaches. However, these codon deoptimisation approaches act in a species dependent manner and were unable to confer flavivirus attenuation in mosquito cells or in mosquito animal models.

Almost all registered drugs have proven ineffective in addressing the needs of patients with PDAC. This is the result of a poor understanding of the unique tumor-immune microenvironment (TME) in PDAC.

The relevant evidence of laryngeal mask airway (LMA) on maternal and neonatal outcomes is still limited. We aimed to assess the maternal and neonatal outcomes when the LMA Supreme was used for cesarean section under general anesthesia.

However, VR users' perceptions, openness and learning effectiveness are seldom comprehensively evaluated, particularly in learning complex industrial operations. In this study, grounded in the technology acceptance model, a moderated mediation model of perceived usefulness, ease of use, openness to experience, and engagement in VR-based learning was developed.

Comparison of the predictive performance between two deficit accumulation models of frailty, the modified frailty index (mFI) and the revised-Risk Analysis Index (RAI-rev), is poorly understood. This study compared the predictive abilities of the above two frailty indices in predicting life-threatening morbidity and mortality among older patients following elective high-risk abdominal surgery.

In contrast to traditional chemical modification, this study reports a new method for the hydrophobic modification of BFs using tannic acid (TA) and the in situ growth of FeOOH nanoparticles (NPs), resulting in FeOOH-TA-BF, which is used to prepare styrene-butadiene styrene (SBS)-modified asphalt. The experimental results show that the surface roughness, specific surface area, thermal stability, and hydrophobicity of the modified BF are improved, which is beneficial for enhancing the interface compatibility with asphalt.

Although one-dimensional peptide nanofibers and nanotubes have been widely used for biomedical applications, the design and synthesis of two-dimensional (2D) peptide nanostructures for cancer therapy remain challenging. In this work, we describe the creation of 2D biocompatible peptide nanosheets (PNSs) through molecular self-assembly, which can provide support matrixes for conjugating gold nanorods (AuNRs) to form high-performance 2D nanomaterials for photothermal conversion.

In less affluent regions, household energy use is often the dominant pollution source and is sensitive to the affluence change caused by a persisting pandemic. Air quality studies on COVID-19 have shown declines in pollution levels over industrialized regions as an immediate response to pandemic-caused lockdown and weakened economy.
